Thanks for that info. Where do you suggest I purchase a complete ready to go pc like that in rack form factor?

    Rack mount?

Thank you. Oddly enough Axis swapper my unit for a brand new one. Just as loud and has a couple issues network wise we are working on. While I don’t mind building and playing, I’d rather spend a few extra bucks and buy something ready to go. I’m about ready to just add another poe switch and buy...

I’m seeing r230’s for $500-700. What chip/memory do you recommend?

    Rack mount?

I might be open to buying or building something but as I had said in an earlier thread I really need it in a 1-2u rack space (I already have the rack and no real space for the pc that is want to put it). So to find a rack server/computer which is basically what the axis is, not sure where to...

    Rack mount?

Right! I didn’t pay that or anywhere close. Axis today confirmed an issue with fan noise and they are working on a bios update but no ETA. I thought an axis product would be easiest to use and compatible. Building a system didn’t really want to.

    Rack mount?

I know. I’m in a pickle. I could mount somewhere in garage which is ac’d on a wall and have up cable run via conduit for security. Hmmm

    Rack mount?

True. Good point. There is a seal on the unit and I was trying to avoid breaking it for warranty purposes. But I’ll check

    Rack mount?

so I ended up going with Axis. Bought their S2016 nvr server. It’s huuuge. And loud. I’m thinking not to Isengard my existing rack next to theater for these reasons. Any thoughts or suggestions about mounting in my attic. I am in south Florida and it does get very hot in there. Was going to...

    Hikvision or Axis?

That was my thoughts. So I was leaning towards their P1427-le as my main camera model (5mp ir vf bullet) and was told it was being discontinued. Have replacement model but very limited info on net, if at all. I guess models change often, like cars. No specs yet but some New Zealand sites have...

    Hikvision or Axis?

I am a DIY’er but will have cams installed and wired pulled for me. On the other hand the company doing the physical install is also setting up the nvr and all included in cost. I can go either way. I don’t need to have axis cook me breakfast though. Just a good clear pic. Hikvision seems the go...

    Hikvision or Axis?

hi. So I’ve narrowed down my system choice to either a 4k Hikvision or a mostly 5mp Axis system. Difference is about $2500 more for Axis. I realize I’m posting this on the Hikvision forum but figured I’d get a fairly good reply from those in the know. Thanks. I guess the question is is...

I don’t need a rack, I already have a 42u rack for entire home crestron automation, AV, network and current cam dvr. Why the ocd comment?

Thank you for the reply. I am aware that every single question has been discussed. Perhaps something has changed since some of those threads? New product, new issues etc. As far as 4k vs 2mp, my feeling is if I’m going to invest the money to upgrade our system in full, why not buy something...

New member, new system help needed.

I currently have analog cameras and an analog (bnc) everfocus dvr. Looking to replace all cameras with the highest and best quality I can get. I currently have 8 bullets, 1 mini/micro dome/turret for front door (4” diameter or less, max), and an older m1034-w axis cube in garage. Will be...
