    Anyone from UK here?

Hi Guys, Sorry have been away for a while with work. So my question is I have Sky Fibre at home. I have a netgear VPN router but this is to hide my internet traffic. I have been told I need to get a VPN router with an OPENVPN Server to be able to access the cameras from outside the house. Now...

    Anyone from UK here?

That's awesome and really good to know. I'm struggling a bit and I think some of my issues are to do with our ISPs here as opposed to the US. Have you set up your system? Are you with Sky or BT?

So I can buy a modem which works with my UK ISP. It's only £15/$20... so if I get that how will that help me?

@SouthernYankee... the ISP supplied router can not be put into passthrough mode. The static ip is costing me $100 for 5 years

Hi guys, you are all correct. I rushed out and got a VPN but it was a client setup and not a server.... my bad!!! I have spoken to the VPN provider, and they have said that they can offer me a dedicated IP address which I would then use to access my home network. I think this seems the...

I can access the ui3 on my local lan. As soon as i disconnect from the lan and use cellular connection, I can not access the ui3. Would it make it easier to go through the BlueIris app instead?

@ SouthernYankee...I would like it via the ui3 interface. When I am at home and on wifi, I can access BI. As soon as I switch over to 4G I lose this ability. I do not have a clue whether I am using static IP or DDNS. My VPN router was bought preconfigured to work with UK ISP. I will send...

So, latest.... All my cameras are connected and recording perfectly. I now want to be able to view the cameras on a mobile device, but this is proving difficult to work out how to do this. I have 2 nic cards in the BI PC. The 1st one which is talking to the cameras has an IP of...

Hey Peeps, which app would you recommend for viewing the cameras remotely on an android phone?
  23. O

    Recording

Hi Peeps, My BI PC has a 256GB SSD and a 10TB HDD. Would you recommend recording clips to the SSD and the continuous recording to the HDD? I am assuming then I would clone each camera to record to the SSD? Thanks in advance.

@mikeynags... absolutely...thats the incoming IP address of the SKY router. I then plugged in the VPN router with the IP of 192.168.70.1 which is then connected to the home network. Will wait for the 2nd NIC and set it up.....fingers crossed....nearly there....THEN BLUE IRIS....WOW thats a...

    Yes everything else is 192.168.1.70.xxx

The larger plan is to see the cameras remotely. I have a VPN Router already setup (192.168.70.x), which is protecting the whole home network.

@mikeynags ---- that would still protect my cameras from being hacked? Or do i need to mess around with IP address for the second NIC?

Just to clarify, the BI PC, POE Switch and cameras are not connected to the internet. The aim is to now be able to access the cameras via a mobile and or stream to a tv.... Please help

    Cameras all connected

So, below is my setup. Based on above advice, I will get another network card and insert into BI PC. So one port would be for the POE switch with the cameras attached to it, and then the other port would be to go out to network switch. Is that correct?

I can easily get a network card. In the meantime I have a spare network switch... could I just use that? Internet to switch. Cameras to switch. Switch to BI PC?
