Hikvision and Firefox. Fix found yet?

Well, turns out there's a plugin for Firefox, my preferred browser, so set that up. Seems a bit finicky in how it displays which cameras when, but over all it seems to have settled into displaying all 4 in a tab, which was what I wanted. I sent him the $3.50 upgrade fee. An awful lot of work...

Hikvision and Firefox. Fix found yet?

Hadn't heard of MyIPcam plugin before. Thanks. I've installed it and started configuring it, and it found the 4 LaView cameras connected to my NVR, but will not find the quad split of the four, which shows up fine in the IE browser. The four cameras individually have addresses and ports...

Are all in-one kits that bad??

While I agree with what you wrote about securing the connections and making sure they are waterproof, my camera failure was not a connection failure. A spare camera plugged into the connector came to life immediately, and there were no signs of corrosion - the camera just died.

Are all in-one kits that bad??

I bought a LaView kit on sale from NewEgg with an 8 channel NVR (no drive included), four 2mp and two 4mp cameras for around $325 about 18 months ago, it's been running 24/7 since, and I am overall pleased with the system. I have had one camera fail in a major days-long rainstorm about 15 months...

Good app to view 4MP cameras on Amazon Fire box?

After looking a round a lot, I settled for IP Cam Viewer from the Amazon store. It was $4, and I have it on both my Fire boxes. It's adequate. Slow refresh rate (I have the cameras set around 22 frames/sec, the app displays them around 10-12). Cumbersome and somewhat unintuitive interface for an...

Hikvision and Firefox. Fix found yet?

It doesn't seem to matter whether I'm using the main higher resolution stream, or the lower rez substream. The main stream is 1920x1080 on the 2MP cameras, and 2688 x 1520 on the 4MP ones. The substream is much lower rez, but I don't know what it is. It crashes the plugin just the same.

Hikvision and Firefox. Fix found yet?

Perhaps. Regardless, it is completely repeatable. 32 bit version of latest Pale Moon, nothing else installed in the browser, running the plugin it prompted me to install. Running the quad split by logging into the NVR, I can view any two of my 2MP cameras, but adding a third or just opening...

Hikvision and Firefox. Fix found yet?

Thanks. I think it works because you're using Firefox 52.0.2 (32-bit) ESR. I can't get it to work with the current version. However, as I mentioned above, for some reason I don't understand it just started working in IE 11 for me.

Good app to view 4MP cameras on Amazon Fire box?

Tried the free version of that just to see how it looks, and could not get it to pull up a picture from the NVR or any of the cameras.

Good app to view 4MP cameras on Amazon Fire box?

Thanks for the suggestion. You are correct that in runs in landscape mode. However, it will not respond to the Fire's remote (nor to a mouse connected to the Fire's USB port) to enter any configuration info - it just wants a touch screen. I thought about trying a USB keyboard, but even if I do...

Hikvision and Firefox. Fix found yet?

That WAS under Windows. Win 10 Pro, to be precise. I've actually has no problems with Android based apps to view the cameras.

Hikvision and Firefox. Fix found yet?

Did that. Could not get it to work. But...I just tried it again, and NOW it's working in IE 11. No explanation, changed nothing, it just works. Sheesh.

Hikvision and Firefox. Fix found yet?

To be technical about it, Pale Moon itself did not crash. The screen prompt said the plugin had crashed and Pale Moon would now close. Which it did. This happened after I added a third camera, which was 4MP. The previous two had been 2MP. When I removed the 4MP and put in another 2MP, the...

Hikvision and Firefox. Fix found yet?

That's what the documentation says, but the only browser that prompted me was Explorer 11, and I clicked and it said the plugin was downloaded and installed. Then when I restarted Explorer and tried again, it just kept insisting I needed to download the plugin. After 3 or 4 tries, I gave up. On...

Good app to view 4MP cameras on Amazon Fire box?

Unfortunately not. I can side load it on the Amazon Fire, but like all HIKvision apps, it needs to be in portrait mode for the menus to appear for setup and for use, and there's no way to put the Fire box/TV into portrait mode. I've tried all sorts of things and have been unsuccessful in getting...

Good app to view 4MP cameras on Amazon Fire box?

Looking for a decent app to use on the Amazon Fire box to display my cameras. I downloaded, installed, and paid for IP Cam Viewer, but it has been disappointing. It has problems with displaying higher resolution (4MP) images in general, and at anything near the set frame rates. If I set my...

Can you be more specific as to how you have the VLC plugin configured in Firefox? Thanks.

Hikvision and Firefox. Fix found yet?

Pale Moon 32 bit browser works OK, but it has a problem with the higher data rates demanded by 4MP cameras, I've discovered. I swapped out a couple of 2MP cameras for 4MP ones, and suddenly Pale Moon (it's plugin, actually) started crashing regularly, even with what I believe is the most...

OSD adjustments fail on La View LVPB912F4C cameras

I bought the package at the end of February from NewEgg, and it came with that version installed. When I tell it to go online and look for an update, it says I have the current version. Have you tried doing an update from the NVR System menus? Also, I've been led to believe that emailing tech...

OSD adjustments fail on La View LVPB912F4C cameras

Running several La View LVPB912F4C cameras (firmware 5.4.5 build 170309), and some LVPB3140WC cameras (firmware 5.4.4 build 170419) through a La View LVN9808C8E NVR (firmware 3.4.82 build 170301), all with a similar issue with the On Screen Display of Date/Time and Name. Has anyone been able to...

    LaView LV-PB932F4 -- Hikvision Camera?

Thanks. Had a look, and it seems the best current option is the 32 bit version of the Pale Moon browser, which I installed - it works. I can now see and download recorded footage from the NVR on my computer, which is great.

    LaView LV-PB932F4 -- Hikvision Camera?

Reviving this older thread... New to IP cameras and their setup. Bought the Newegg 'special' a couple of weeks ago with the La View LVN9808C8E NVR (firmware 3.4.82 build 170301), two 4mp LVPB3140WC cameras (firmware 5.4.4 build 170419), and four LVPB912F4C cameras (firmware 5.4.5 build 170309)...
