He should be glad that clerk didn't have one of those 9mms. Could have blown the lungs clean out of his body.

So what appears to be happening is that when running clips through the AI log window with Analyze with AI checked in Testing & Tuning, all custom models in the assets folder are running, regardless of whether they are in your settings. In normal usage, it appears to work as intended, only...

Yeah. That's how it is setup. I was running your custom model with Deepstack. All was working fine before. It's curious. I appreciate you trying to troubleshoot, but don't feel any obligation to spend any time on this now. Things may well change when Blue Iris gets updated. Given the bug you...

Yeah. That's been unchecked. It doesn't matter it's still running both license plate and yolo models alongside general1

So I've been testing. Thanks for pointing out the weird general/general1 thing. Had me pulling my hair out why it wasn't using the model. Detection seems faster, but . . . While testing/tuning I still get boxes drawn for suitcase, tv, and potted plant. It indicates that it's using the general1...

Broken check box or Broken Operator?

I use email to get notifications. Email server works fine. Deepstack works fine. My email is gmail and it will thread emails if they have the exact same title. This is the behavior that I want. Rather than seeing 3 separate threads each with 1 email when someone crosses 3 cameras, I should see...

    IR Illuminators in 2019

I added separate IR illuminators to my system this year. They are a significant upgrade for me. I would encourage anyone pulling cable for an IP system to consider pulling a few extra cables for IR illuminators (mine are above and behind the cameras).

The Raspberry PI thread - What do you do with yours?

I think the nearly universal reaction to installing a pi-hole is "Why did it take me so long to do this?"

The Raspberry PI thread - What do you do with yours?

I just added the POE hat to my 3b+ that I use as a Pihole. I tried using it as a viewer for UI3, but it would eventually lock up and kill my pihole. I think it ran just a little too hot. I may have to give your omxplayer a look.

To VPN or not to VPN

A VPN should have no effect on your TV stuff. It doesn't affect your normal traffic. It only lets you remotely connect like you are on your own network.

To VPN or not to VPN

The rasbperry pi is not "daisy chained" or "in-line". It simply occupies any open router port (it could be done wirelessly but wireless is silly for critical infrastructure). If you don't have an open port, get a $20 switch. pivpn is openvpn which is open source. Th os, raspian, is open...

To VPN or not to VPN

If I didn't have a unifi USG that has the capability to VPN, I'd probably be doing a pivpn on a raspberry pi.

    BI Remote Viewing and Pi-hole

I'm not sure what you mean when you say: Given that your original post said this: If it worked before you installed the pihole and it stopped working when you installed it, but doesn't work when you disable the pihole, is it possible that you did something else that stops it working? Basic...

Also, your pi-hole has an admin page that you can access to see what is happening when you try to view the cameras.

    BI Remote Viewing and Pi-hole

are you using a dynamic dns provider? Or the built in Blue Iris dynamic dns, i.e. blueiris.pro/XXXXXXX? Those services could be blocked and need to be whitelisted. If you are just accessing your ip and ports directly, I'm not sure why a local network DNS server would be involved at all. On a...

    BI Remote Viewing and Pi-hole

I have a pi-hole set up on my network without any problems. I'm not sure why it would cause a problem. I'm not thinking of a reason Blue Iris would use DNS lookup. Someone with more knowledge than me might know. But I think more details are necessary. Are you port forwarding or accessing...

    Package thief caught

Both cams that caught him are quite visible. He was so focused on the postman, he wasn't looking for cams. He never looked up or at them, but he also didn't make any attempt to hide his face. Seems like he just missed them even though they are completely obvious.

Suggest a router that has a VPN

I'm a fan of unifi. I just set up a vpn for my parent's cams from halfway across the country. All in a gui. It took a while for them to get the remote user VPN working in unifi, but they finally did it.

    Package thief caught

A lot of luck went into this for sure. I live in a small town. It wasn't a busy weekend, or too late. The perp happened to be on the same street a few blocks away. (Where he was couch-surfing.) And he just blurted out to a separate felony when he was contacted. Our local leos are pretty good...

Thanks. I wondered why the audio did that. The audio should have been off, but somehow I must have reset it at some point. I’m in a 2 party state so I don’t want the audio on.

    Package thief caught

Full daylight. Busy street. I think I would have probably gone out on my porch and told him he was on camera and asked for it back. I'd have stayed on my porch so I could get back in the house quickly if necessary, but I'm a big guy and it's not likely he would come back to attack me. I don't...

    Package thief caught

Came home yesterday expecting to find a package on my porch. No package. Checked my cams and sure enough, he takes the package a minute or so after delivery. Uploaded clips to dropbox and waited for cops. Thirty minutes after showing him the video and emailing the clips, officer called and...

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

You are confusing 24v vs 48v passive with passive poe vs 802.3af/at. All you need is 802.3af. I don't think any ubiquiti switches are 24v only. The US8-60w is 802.3af, but all the other unifi switches and the edgeswitches are 802.3af/at. 802.3af/at are 48v standards at ~12w and ~25w...
