Wireless is so annoying. What are some wired lan cameras that are small and simple like Wyze and Eufy?

Can be POE or not, just want some stuff that is reliable. Wyze V3 with RTSP has 1000 signal loses a day. Eufy is far more stable but can't do night vision without the IR lights turning on which annoys toddler.

    Problem with MMS

So I just turned mine MMS alerts back on after having them off for two weeks+ and they are working as of right now. My GMAIL was filled with old errors from the messages bouncing back before.

    Problem with MMS

It's Verizon. I had been getting instant text alerts for over a year without a problem and then it went to crap. It's 100% Verizon. My Gmail server works perfectly so now I have it setup sending emails to itself to test and they never fail.

Blue Iris is using the substreams for recording instead of the mainstreams.

Which would explain why it was working fine for me until I updated.

Blue Iris is using the substreams for recording instead of the mainstreams.

The way the wiki is written I should be able to use the sub streams but still record mainstreams.

Blue Iris is using the substreams for recording instead of the mainstreams.

Was working fine until I upgraded from an older 2020 version to the newest version. Don't know what I need to change.

Need help with my alerts getting the proper motion zones flagged.

I have my porch marked as Zone B, everything as Zone A. My motion alerts will only show AB if the motion is detected in B first and then in A. If the motion starts in A and then continues into B, it only gets marked as A. What do I need to change for both of these scenarios to be marked as AB?

What part do I need to seal up a junction box when I have an Ethernet cable coming out?

In that case I can just dill a hole in a plug and use duct putty with it. Thanks again.

Insane amount of particles causing false alerts at night. Is it due to where my camera is?

Thank you both. I'm adjusting the lights and I'll be moving the underdeck light to the backyard to point and the dark area I just made. I'm also reviewing videos of me walking around. :) Sucks that all of this can only be done at night.

What part do I need to seal up a junction box when I have an Ethernet cable coming out?

Thanks. I've been using duct seal for the house penetrations. So these SJ connectors seal tight on an ethernet cable? Also, do I need to cut the connector off?

What part do I need to seal up a junction box when I have an Ethernet cable coming out?

I have one of these round boxes but the wire needs to exit out the side. How do I seal that hole up with the wire?

Insane amount of particles causing false alerts at night. Is it due to where my camera is?

I'm getting closer to final config. This is one $25 light under the camera and three $15 lights. One mounted under the deck pointing down and two other aimed at different parts of the backyard. Nice improvement for about $100 including extensions and splitters.

Insane amount of particles causing false alerts at night. Is it due to where my camera is?

Got some fog tonight. Turned the lights on the camera to see how bad it is and the comparison pictures don't lie. All of the external IR are on in both pictures. The first picture shows the fog bouncing back at the camera with its lights on. That fog is also moving around a lot.

Insane amount of particles causing false alerts at night. Is it due to where my camera is?

Alright, I've done a temp install with two IR lights and turn the lights off that are built into the camera. One of these about a foot beneath my camera and one of these shinning off the rear deck to the right building adding light just beyond where the first lights begin to fade. I plan on...

Well that's about to happen. Going to put up two or three these.

Insane amount of particles causing false alerts at night. Is it due to where my camera is?

Question. How much of an offset are we talking to prevent rain and fog from bouncing back to the camera? What if an IR light through the window below the camera? Would that work?

Insane amount of particles causing false alerts at night. Is it due to where my camera is?

Its a Lechange NK168P083-IPC which is just a rebadged Dahua.

Insane amount of particles causing false alerts at night. Is it due to where my camera is?

It took me months to figure out that this is not sideways rain. It's tiny particles that travel in every direction, but mostly upward right towards the camera. It's impossible for me to dial my settings down low enough to ignore this and still capture animals that have come through my backyard.

Camera with IR emitter, triggers at night in rain

Where do you position the external light in reference to the camera? Do they have to be on the same plain?

Not triggering when I run across the yard. What setting to change?

When reviewing the clips, I have lots of yellow boxes showing that it is sensing me, but it doesn't turn red unless I slow down. My settings are shown below. I've tried Gaussian and Simple, same result.

Need help getting alerts for only one zone.

So I have Zone A and Zone B. I only want sms alerts from Zone B, but I keep getting some from Zone A. It's not all of them though. I don't think the alerts have Zone B in them because the in BI5, the alerts show that only A was trigger, not B or AB. This is the settings I have. I've tried with...

I love the Wyze app, but hate everything else about it. Looking for a proper solution.

Just want to update this thread since I started it. I bought an HP EliteDesk 800 G2 SFF Core i7-6700 PC with SSD & 4TB purple drive off ebay. Works very well and is quiet. I just setup the blue iris notification where my email sends a text to my phone. It includes an image which then shows on up...

Any low cost junction boxes with at two sealed openings?

I need a few boxes for my setup. All bullet cams for now. A few of the spots will have the camera at one place with the junction box close by. The cameras wires will enter the box and then outdoor cable will feed out of the box and into my house. Other places could just one entrance with the...

Do Lechange (Dahua) cameras require the NVR to work?

I went through the awkward process of using the dahua config tool to find the camera and reassign the IP address. It's a done deal.

Changed POE camera IP, now it can't stay on the network.

I have a Lechange 4K bullet came that came with my NVR setup. I was able to change the 10.1.1.71 IP to 192.168.10.180 so it would match my network. I did this with config tool. Now when I power the camera up it loads and then works for all of 5 seconds, then its gone from the network again and...

Do Lechange (Dahua) cameras require the NVR to work?

Which VMS or NVR company has the best mobile app?

I'm such an impatient person, already bought two computers. First was a decent priced i5 and then I just bought a ready to go i7 that includes a purple drive. The i5 will end up going to my daughter for school. That old computer I have from 2008 is way too slow.

Which VMS or NVR company has the best mobile app?

So the only desktop I currently have is an Inspiron 530 from 2008. Has an Intel Core2 Q6600 2.40Ghz processor. I used to run ispy on this about 4 years ago. So I put the Blue Iris v5 demo on it and I'll be damned if this isn't 1000 times better than my Dahua NVR, lol. Much better interface...
