What about some homes that have mid-span blocks between all the studs? Those always make it harder to run cables up or down the full wall.

Did you turn off or disable WIFI on the notebook when connecting via the NIC?

I've had a few snap off inside on a recent install. A strong magnet pulls them right out.

The NUCs run pretty warm under load. Repasting the CPU and undervolting helps with thermals. Other than that, they run fine for what you're looking to do.

The ones I recieved match the "Type 1" version which seems to work fine so far and matches the picture Andy posted on the first page.
