    Hikvonect router problem?

Can you see the camera at work using SADP? Could the LAN IP address at work have changed and the camera is now on a different subnet?

    No video feed for Hik-Connect

Slow internet speed will cause camera connection to time out. As you indicated works at night when black and white and not in color since more data is needed. Try using LTE rather then WiFi, it should work when viewing the sub streams.

Client will use VPN to access (VPN server Open VPN)

I’m not a VPN expert but from my experience this setting is not in the ovpn file. If you have VPN off and are local to the router you will have access to everything (LAN and internet). If you are local with VPN on you will only have access to whatever the setting is. I leave VPN on all the time...

Camera with IR emitter, triggers at night in rain

Motion detection is very difficult to achieve in an outdoor environment. Turning down the sensitivity for rain and bugs and shadows will likely result in not capturing what you want. Best option is to continuously record but leave motion detection set so you can go the event markers.

Need suggestions on long runs (1,000'ish ft)

No experience with Ethernet over coax but the attached manual for a Startech device shows less throughput than that of the cheap Ubiquiti radios https://sgcdn.startech.com/005329/media/sets/EOC1110x_Manual/EOC1110K_R.pdf By the way if you do go fiber and are using the armored cable, there is...

Need suggestions on long runs (1,000'ish ft)

There are many suppliers of cable and media converter suppliers. Using gigabit media converts vs 100Mbps is more expensive but you do not have to worry about running out of bandwidth now or in the future. Here is a randomly selected one from Amazon —...

Need suggestions on long runs (1,000'ish ft)

Looks like fiber between the buildings is your best option. It will handle all of your data needs in the future and will also provide isolation for lightning. Put a gigabit switch in each building to aggregate all you network needs and have an UPS if interruptions cause you problems.

    "Grey" market camera, forgotten password

Did you follow the instructions for setting the correct date? Your password looks okay to me. The password shown in the instructions is fo a NVR, that is why there are letters at the end. Cameras don’t have letters at the end.

    Ds-2cd2t42wd-i5 not connecting

Plug the camera directly into your POE switch. This eliminates any cabling. If everything is good, then its the cabling from the switch to the camera, probably a connector. If it doesn’t work then either the camera failed or the POE supply within the camera is bad. Obtain a 12VDC supply for a...

How are you accessing your NVR through your router? Do you have a port open (bad idea)? Are you using VPN (good idea)? You don’t need either if you are using your local WiFi network since you are already behind your router.

    Hikvision DS-7604NI-K1/4P - can't see cameras...

SADP will not see the cameras through the NVR so that is all okay. You can reset the NVR to default under maintenance. Have you tried just rebooting the cameras and NVR? Not being able to see the LAN attached camera indicates that it has nothing to do with the ports on the NVR.
