    Recommendation Needed: 30x Optical Zoom

another thought (from my own experience....) at first, don't worry about a fancy installation of cameras and wiring (i.e. burying, complex routing, etc.) until you test how your camera performs. You might need to relocate it. Try it out before spending the time and money on final...

    Recommendation Needed: 30x Optical Zoom

One suggestion I have is to start slowly. What you believe you want at this point will likely change as you become familiar with the equipment and their performance in your particular case. As an example, you'll probably find that "what you can see from a planned camera" is different than what...

What is the best way to "Pause" the trigger of a camera for a few seconds?

Thanks TheaMaddox, it's actually a doorbell camera that I'm trying to pause the motion detection on, while I have another camera undergo a reboot (using a Homeseer event and power control module). The "mdelay" is exactly what I needed.

What is the best way to "Pause" the trigger of a camera for a few seconds?

Sure, just as you suggested I used the "mdelay" command thru the HTTP interface. I use Homeseer, and submitted the command to Blue Iris in a triggered event using an msedge.exe command with a parameter of "http://10.0.0.13:port/admin?camera=Doorbell&mdelay=60&user=xxxx&pw=yyyy"

What is the best way to "Pause" the trigger of a camera for a few seconds?

Thank you, I wasn’t aware this was available. I use other commands within the HTTP interface, but didn't see these there. I will give it a try. Thanks

What is the best way to "Pause" the trigger of a camera for a few seconds?

I have a camera that triggers based on another camera's IR lights coming on at a specific time of the day. This causes a false motion. What is the best way to "Pause" the trigger of a camera for a few seconds at the specific time the other camera is going to cause the motion? I simply want to...

    Blueiris NVR conundrum

I have been using Blue Iris for about 4-5 years. I started with a PC-based automation system and added software and cameras. I bought a DVR that was to be used as a standalone. It's still running fine. I know use it as the front end to Blue Iris where it reduces the cabling required since...

Webcam from another PC to BI

I have since implemented a second BI license to handle this due to bandwidth usage...... but I was able to incorporate cameras at a remote location into my BI system at home. As long as you have access to the IP address of the camera at the remote site, you can include it as a camera in the...

    Fine-tuning a trigger at night

Gotcha, thanks for explaining. My biggest problems are light (mostly sun variation through trees) and spiders in IR. If we could solve that, I’d be tickled!

    Fine-tuning a trigger at night

I thought that the idea of “static image” was to eliminate this type of alert.

    Trouble installing UI3 on desktop

I must admit that I'm not sure that ZT needs to be involved while on the same LAN. I was thinking that ZT was policing access to the PC and wouldn't let it through unless it was "ZT authorized". That may not be true while on the same LAN. I do know, that even when local I use the ZT IP...

Is it possible to "intercept" the signal from a cheap IP camera?

Oh well, I'm not sure what I'll use it for. I'll have to figure out how I can protect it on the network to use it. thanks

Is it possible to "intercept" the signal from a cheap IP camera?

I guess I just don't understand how the cloud-based ones work. I was assuming that there must be a video feed coming from the camera that isn't available without internet connection. I was hoping I could intercept the raw signal. Sounds like it can't be done. Thanks for your help!

Is it possible to "intercept" the signal from a cheap IP camera?

Is it possible to "intercept" the signal from a cheap IP camera that doesn't support RTSP/ONVIF? I received one for free and as expected, it can't be pulled into BI. I am thinking that there may be a way to connect it to an NVR directly. Is it possible to cut the ethernet cable, identify...

looking for options for enabling remote access for CGNAT fiber connection

ZeroTier has worked very well for me. I’m personally not familiar with Tailscale, since my ZT setup has worked so well, but I believe that they are similar upon function. ZT allows me to use windows Remote Desktop. The combination has worked very well.

looking for options for enabling remote access for CGNAT fiber connection

thanks for the ngrok suggestion. We are in the process of setting up a Zerotier solution. The site is remote, so we are only there sporadically to work on it!

Zero Tier remote access to Blue Iris

in the BI Webserver tab, you can select the ZT created adapter. If I remember correctly, once you select the ZT adapter (which has the ZT IP address in the name), it inserts the ZT IP in the external IP field.

    Zerotier and DNS

I currently a have static IP address for my Blue Iris PC. I will be moving to an ISP who doesn't have a static offering. Do I need to change any settings for Zerotier? I used a No-Ip solution in the past, but haven't for a few years. Do I need to reinstate it for Zerotier to work?

One tweak that you have to do in BI is to change the LAN adapter to use the one ZT creates.
