IPC-HDW5231R-ZE Rhea V2.800.0000016.0.R.200430 Latest new firmware

I'm not "upgrading" the firmware in any of my Dahua cameras until and unless it has @EMPIRETECANDY's blessing.

I've said it before: Dahhua is eventually going to have to address this or they're going to have a lot of very unhappy customers

    Amazon lost my Dahua IPC-T2431T-AS?

Amazon Logistics was so bad, here, that I finally ended-up in a conversation with their "executive"-level people, who did some kind of magic to put Amazon Logistics as my least-preferred shipping method, rather than my most. That worked well until USPS went to hell in a hand-basket Now I...

    Powerline AC Adapters

If you're not going for maximum smoke (bandwidth), I suggest a product that focuses on stability and reliability over throughput. When I researched it a year-and-a-half back or so, I found Comtrend's G.hn products appeared to be the winner in that respect. So I ordered a pair. I don't recall...

    New Firmware for IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.800.0000013.0.R.191202.zip

sigh Dahua must do almost no QC on their firmware at all I'll just stick with v15 on everything.

    New Firmware for IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.800.0000013.0.R.191202.zip

Thanks for the update, @EMPIRETECANDY! Snagged it :) Is it safe to assume all the bugs noted previously, such as cameras crashing and the sub-stream configurations resetting to defaults, have been addressed?

Bugs bugs bugs, an IR nightmare!

There's only so much bats can do. We have bats. Can stand out in the back yard during twilight and see 'em up there, wheeling and diving around. Last summer I was out back practicing golf flop shots (that's where you hit the ball such that it goes high and short, so it doesn't roll much when...

Bugs bugs bugs, an IR nightmare!

TTBOMK, a separate IR light is the only way. I simply leave the IR off. The outside areas our cams cover are also thoroughly covered by motion-detecting floods, so there's little that escapes the cameras even on totally dark nights with no IR.

IPC-HDW5231R-ZE Rhea V2.800.0000016.0.R.200430 Latest new firmware

V2.800.0000015.0.R.200430 is the latest recommended version. There's a link to it on page 1 of this thread. As usual: Do not update unless there's good reason to do so. (E.g.: Poor or missing functionality, security issue(s) to which your cams may be exposed.)

IPC-HDW5231R-ZE Rhea V2.800.0000016.0.R.200430 Latest new firmware

Ok, I'll try v15 in the one 5231 I haven't yet upgraded and is still occasionally rebooting itself. If it works well, I'll downgrade the other two from v16 to v15. Thanks!

IPC-HDW5231R-ZE Rhea V2.800.0000016.0.R.200430 Latest new firmware

Thanks, Andy! One might reasonably argue some cameras repeatedly spontaneously rebooting themselves, as some have reported with v16, and cameras losing their configurations upon reboot, as I and others have reported with v16, are fairly big bugs

IPC-HDW5231R-ZE Rhea V2.800.0000016.0.R.200430 Latest new firmware

Well day-um :( I just tested the two 5231s I upgraded to v16, and damned if you aren't right: Configure substream 1, reboot the camera, and bam: Right back to default values. Not very handy. @EMPIRETECANDY: Any chance you can persuade Dahua to fix this bug and do a new release?

I've a tiny little APC BE600M1, 600VA, UPS supplying my Synology DS218+ NAS, upon which runs Surveillance Station, an OTA TV networked digital tuner, and a small 5-port switch. Uptime is two hours. When large enough SSDs become economical enough and I replace the WD Reds in my NAS with SSDs...

That's disappointing :( In what way(s) does it not work correctly? It'll be interesting to see if they addressed that. Personally, I'm not expecting them. Comparing this cam to the much-beefier PTZ cams, I doubt it was designed to be regularly slewed up & down, right & left. Thanks, again...

Suggestions for adding a network jack outside.

You might try a pair of Comtrend G.hn powerline adaptors. They claim their G.hn communications protocol is more noise-resistant. I never got anywhere near the blazing speeds Comtrend suggests you can get with them, but I did get a minimum of a solid 80mb/s or better throughout the house, even...

I've this re-labelled Dahua camera that was gifted to me by a brother-in-law that runs a security firm in Europe. Long Distance Run Data Fails Quick Question

I have gone slightly over the 328 ft. limit on Cat 5E and had error-free connectivity. (Cables failed qualification testing on length and impedance, though.) But I was using top-of-the-line cable (Belden DataTwist) and it was run flawlessly. 350 feet sounds like pushing your luck...

Intermittent Connection Lost on Dahua Big PTZs

Could be, but the symptoms sound to me more like power than a slightly-too-long Cat 6 run. A marginal cable would, IMO, more likely cause more frequent, and shorter-lived issues. Besides: The limit is 328 ft. (100 meters) and, IME, you can even go a bit over that and still get error-free...

UPS for use with Blue Iris system

Just so you know: Increased VA ratings do not equate to commensurately increased runtime. E.g.: If a 1000VA unit gives you 100 minutes of uptime, a 1500VA unit will not necessarily, probably will not, give you 150 minutes. The proper way to do it is choose a UPS that's rated at well above your...
