New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I do have a separate PoE camera with a larger IMX347 1/1.8" sensor as well, running PoE to my doorbell is a nono lol. The Reolink Doorbell quality is fine if you have sufficient lights but still has it's limitation due to its form factor

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I did this a couple of times then got tired of formatting it (Sandisk High Endurance card), replaced it with a Samsung Pro Endurance and no more errors. The old card did test fine and I'm using it in my Switch to store games (write once/read many), card could be on its way out and errorring

I finally figured out the 8MP 1/1.2" and 4MP 1/1.8" CMOS models Hikvision uses

Still good sensor for the money, no? MC-J40 is just a bit more $ also

I finally figured out the 8MP 1/1.2" and 4MP 1/1.8" CMOS models Hikvision uses

Hah is that the sensor in the Anjvision MC-J30 module? Supposedly SC450AI as per taobao sellers but it's not, in the firmware it's called SP4329, after googling, I think SP may refer to SuperPix that is now part of Omnivision? Looks pretty similar to the HK187 sensor, the little dots (wire...

    [Review] Anjvision IMX347 4MP 1/1.8" Starlight Camera Module MC-K45

Is H.265+ compatible with a Synology NAS? My modules came with latest firmware version 3.2.2.2 maybe I can try to downgrade to previous one.

    [Review] Anjvision IMX347 4MP 1/1.8" Starlight Camera Module MC-K45

So I got 2 other MC-K45 modules, they all have H.265 encoding problems, what settings are you using? H.264 seems fine I have it set to 2688x1520 CBR 6Mbps 30 fps with iframe every 30 frames. Tried lower fps and higher iframe interval, VBR but it will always glitch up

    [Review] Anjvision IMX347 4MP 1/1.8" Starlight Camera Module MC-K45

Ok so I reapplied some thermal tape but it didnt fix the issue but I'm not sure if it's my sample, I will retest when I get my 2 other modules that I've ordered. I was able to narrow down the conditions when these compression artifacts occurs in the main stream, if happens when the sub stream...

    [Review] Anjvision IMX347 4MP 1/1.8" Starlight Camera Module MC-K45

One more thing, is this module capabable of switching between day and night mode without a CDS? I tried to set the min shutter speed for night mode but it seems to be always in daytime mode from my test

    Reolink CX410

Btw this CX410 uses the same sensor as the Dahua 54xx series, Omnivision OS04A10, so bad SoC/ISP/processing?

    [Review] Anjvision IMX347 4MP 1/1.8" Starlight Camera Module MC-K45

Are you getting motion events using ONVIF? Also found a bug, the ONVIF profile/listed capabilities doesn't have ACC audio codec even though it's available. Also some of the reported bitrates are incorrect. I think hardware WDR is enabled by default that's why the switch doesn't do anything...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I have an old RLC-420-5MP above my doorbell, so I gutted it from outside, kept the housing and left the existing wiring inside my wall alone and retrofitted it with a much better IMX347 module So I'm going to leave my doorbell alone for as long as I can lol

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Agreed but this is just a doorbell, all my cameras are PoE, like I said, they could have made it working with mechanical chimes and even implemented something that could work using existing wiring, but they decided to just make a small form factor PoE camera and slap a button on it lol I had no...

IMO using PoE for a doorbell is just plain stupid

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I had swapped the buttons around so it's all black, seems less confusing that way vs constrasting button which would have done the opposite and so far so good. If you have a light fixture nearby, you could splice into it to a separate jonction box where you can plug a powerline adapter into...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Thanks, I was about to take it off but I decided to check the box and it's printed on a sticker on top of the manual, I'm able to connect via ONVIF now without having to reset the settings Testing out this beta SmartThings ONVIF Edge driver, trying to see if the motion alert can trigger my...

I have the EZVIZ DB1, flashed LaView for ONVIF+Alexa support, without restoring the config, the doorbell appears to still work and ONVIF is running. Just need to figure out the password, is it written on the box or do I have to pull out the doorbell? If I update the firmware from the EZVIZ app...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Give it a try, I think it should be fine even if the output is not at a 100% duty cycle since it accepts AC, dimming DC usually involves PWM.

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I'm not sure if the dimmable aspect of those light transformers would play nicely with the doorbell, a regular 12V power supply would be fine, just needs to be plugged in instead of hard wired. https://www.screwfix.com/p/luceco-12v-constant-voltage-driver-24w/8520k The adhesive is still pretty...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Ok so I tested this myself, runs fine on 9VDC 1A, drawing about 0.4A without IR but mechanical chime doesn't work, I think the triac much be looking for zero crossing to release, when I hit the button it pulls it down to like 5V and goes into current limiting mode (1A) and stays there. I...

But voltage aside, is it able to ring a mechanical chime with DC?

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I've converted my doorbell push buttons to LED and to run on 9VDC, I couldn't stand the AC transformer buzzing away and liked the better efficiency of a SMPS, I see that some folks was able to power it with 12VDC, anyone tried 9VDC? If not, I'll run some test with my lab PSU
