    New Home and suggestions

Yeah makes sense. I'll have to draw a diagram and post it. I already have an idea of where to put the cameras. One on each corner of the house to cover all areas. Just not sure how i'll be able to run cat6 cable in the attic to one side of the house since I have vaulted ceilings in the living...

    New Home and suggestions

I'll start with the wiki section and start looking over that. A lot of information about Blue Iris. Never used that before. Since I'm still in the winter months I'm looking to decide which NVR to go with first. Wether Blue Iris or a rack mount. Thanks and I'll look into the wiki pages.

Recently bought a home and my next project will be to get cameras installed to cover the entire house. I have some experience with camera systems like EagleEye & EZWatch NVR. I also helped install a Backstreet Surveillance system at a friend's house several years back. What I'm thinking is...

    Hikvision to Dahua NVR Issue

Thanks. The camera keeps freezing every few minutes then comes back online. I think it's dropping packets. I'm going to try a different switch, cable and see if it improves.

    Hikvision to Dahua NVR Issue

Well I did a reboot of the NVR and the camera now shows. However the video keeps freezing and dropping every minute or two. Monitor shows 'The login return time is up.' After few minutes it will come back up then does the same thing over. All other cameras are stable and online.

    Hikvision to Dahua NVR Issue

I bought a new 8MP Hikvision camera to add to my Dahua NVR and I've been following all the steps I have seen online and it still won't work. Status still shows red when I add it. When I search for cameras on the NVR it does come up but when I add it, it always shows red. I've changed the port...

    New User Question

Thanks for all the information TonyR. Where would you install one of these PVC mounts? I have an old DirectTV dish on the roof of the house. I'm thinking of taking the dish off and installing the bracket on the back of the house for a direct line of sight to the garage. Then buying Ubiquiti...
