using a Dahua 4431R-Z Varifocal as a LPR camera ?

Ive ordered a new IPC-B5442T-ASE from Andy that will replace my 4431 which covers my driveway, I was thinking I could install the 4431 on the side of the house which is right on the road so I can get a great head on angle for cars to capture vehicle plates at night ? Are there any guides of the...

Running as a windows service ? has odd effect on my NAS Drive ? B.i 5

cant see any option to change the file system. in the nas config page I have an tab for users but not sure how I would configure this to allow the blue iris service. b.i saves to the nas fine when not run as a service.

Running as a windows service ? has odd effect on my NAS Drive ? B.i 5

The Nas is purely for my camera footage so no mac or Linux using it. I will have a look and see if the file system can be changed. thanks

Running as a windows service ? has odd effect on my NAS Drive ? B.i 5

I will have to look into that. It’s a synology ds115j nas and in the storage manager tab it says file system is ext4 ?

Running as a windows service ? has odd effect on my NAS Drive ? B.i 5

Blue iris backs up to a Nas drive on my network, however I have recently changed the power options of my pc and nas so that they auto restart after a power cut, so its just the software I need to autostart now which I assume is where I need to click the 'Run as a windows service' box ? However...

5231rze - reducing motion blur at night

Thanks, I’ve gone into the cameras gui and set the profiles up in there and also the day/night switch time. Although my cameras record to blue iris it looked simpler to set the profile switching times in the actual camera GUI

Pmcross , when you set your profiles up, I assume this is done through the actual camera software ?

5231rze - reducing motion blur at night

No where near the standard of big red fish’s, moving cars are still a bit blurry but the person walking by is lots better, before on auto settings they used to have ghost trails behind them.

5231rze - reducing motion blur at night

Great help, I’ve set shutter to manual 1/30 as my FPS are 15 and that has improved it a lot. I have a streetlight right outside the entrance plus a 30w led floodlight which is on all night. Running it at 1/30, is that ok for daytime as well ?

Big red fish, is your camera colour or b/w for night ?

5231rze - reducing motion blur at night

Thank you, that gives me a starting point, il be honest, I just got them up and running and that’s where I left it. Considering adding another to set up just for plates. I have a pair of 4mp non starlight dahuas to cover the wider area and back garden but as I have the starlight trained on the...

5231rze - reducing motion blur at night

Had the above camera for around a year, bought from Andy, really happy with the picture in general, it covers my driveway which is lit by a 30w led security light through the night. Due to the led light I run it in colour mode at night. What settings should I be looking at to reduce motion blur...

Over allocation error ? Nas details are in red ?

Yes, it has been working fine for last year. I’ve sorted it now by reducing the size of each folder allocation slightly, strange though as the total size I had was under the total size of the nas storage. I also ticked the box to run bi as a service so not sure if that affected anything. I’ve...

Over allocation error ? Nas details are in red ?

got an issue with blue iris highlighting my nas drive in red with explanation marks and if I go into the clip storage section under status it shows as all red (0k/ 1.18T) which indicates over allocation error, what does this mean ? The nas is empty at moment as I deleted all the old clips that...

How can I improve on this facial image?

It’s cool white (5000k), the light was £20 and the fused spur with built in 7 day timer was £23.

How can I improve on this facial image?

So are these white lights ? This is the one I bought, I have it on a timer switch so it comes on at 10pm and goes off at sunrise.

How can I improve on this facial image?

The light from the led is more of a bright white than a natural light but I am happy with its effect. Unfortunately, the camera is on full zoom now and I wanted to keep the very front corner of the van as this is the natural route a intruder would appear from if they hopped the wall rather than...

How can I improve on this facial image?

It was from screwfix, I bought the dusk/dawn sensor separately as I don’t like the floodlights with built in pir sensors. Luceco LED Slim Floodlight 22W Black | Floodlights | Screwfix.com

How can I improve on this facial image?

Installed a 22w led floodlight with dusk/dawn sensor on corner of house to improve lighting at entrance, first impressions are it’s improved the image quite a lot. Light installed : First two clips are floodlight off : And with floodlight on: The floodlight has also meant I can run my...

How can I improve on this facial image?

Great thanks for that, I’m sure I set it in the Dahua profile page previously but must have made an error as I’ve just redone it and it’s switching fine. I do like the colour option though so my next task will be to light my driveway up as if a spaceship is landing .. lol

How can I improve on this facial image?

To be fair after reviewing, the black and white night image is far better than the colour image mainly due to ambient lighting which is ok zoomed out but worse zoomed to entrance as the camera then looses the light given by my front door lighting. So I am going to add more lighting to cover the...

How can I improve on this facial image?

All that makes a lot of sense, i have my frame rate set to 15fps, bit rate type=cbr, customised bit rate of 5120 and iframe interval of 15fps and I can easily identify passing cars, I have zoomed even further to entrance to improve id possibilities whilst still keeping my work van door in shot...

How can I improve on this facial image?

Thanks for that advice, I have changed to those settings so will see how it is when it gets dark. My 3dnr I have set on 100 because I noticed when at 50 in colour mode at night the image, especially the road had a lot of ‘noise’ on it when the camera is zoomed into the driveway entrance. If the...

How can I improve on this facial image?

That’s pretty much where my 5231 is mounted, the one that’s colour, it’s mounted under the canopy above the front door (marked by yellow arrow)to give best chance of facial recognition. And the 4431 is mounted just below the first floor window (red arrow)

How can I improve on this facial image?

Thank you, exposure settings are on auto. I was going to add a 30 or 50 watt white led flood light pointing down onto the area of the drive by the entrance, either to be triggered by pir or on all night via dusk/dawn sensor as I like the colour mode so would prefer to get good facial images in...
