1/2.5" or 1/2" Progressive Scan CMOS

Hi there

I'm looking for a new camera from Hikvision.
There are really many models and I often don't see any difference.

A question about the sensor.
Which one is better and offers the better image quality?
1/2.5" Progressive Scan CMOS

Neither.

1/1.8" is the best right now, best bang for buck.

Unfortunately there is no 8MP camera (4k) with 1.8".

To answer your question the 1/2" would theoretically be the best.

If you want reasonable low light video, do not go 4K at this time. Look at Hikvision 4mp or 2MP darkfighter. Or Dahua Starlight.

More megapixel is not necessarily better.

Yes, the 4MP cameras from Dahua with the 1/1.8" sensors are very good. They are a good leap forward in technology at an affordable price.

All things being equal yes. Especially as the night falls.
