1 of 13 cameras has stopped recording audio.

Well I'm now in the same boat as you originally

Audio didn't work flat out for me. I upgraded to the latest version yesterday and turned on pre-trigger. Boom, audio from both cameras reliably! But, none on the recording now :idk:

I've never had the issue of no audio on the recording up until now

Well that blows.
I'm still on the latest stable release and all is still good here.
Maybe roll back to that release and see if audio returns.
Be sure you have pre-trigger checked for each profile you have in use.

Right now I'm in a better place than I was before, so I'm hesitant to mess with it further. No audio on recording blows, but at least I have audio in live view

No profiles in use here, just a single one 24/7
I would enable it on all cams just as a test. Remember, it caused problems for me on all cameras with it disabled on just one camera.

Remember that if you're recording 24/7 alerts are nothing more than markers in the database and setting a pre-trigger time has zero effect on disk utilization. I normally use a 3 second pre-trigger and a 3 second post trigger time on every camera, whether it has audio or not.

Well today I setup a brand new camera with audio, brand new IP

I noticed this was checked by default and was never checked on my other cameras!

I checked it, now have Audio working on all cameras and recordings
 
Just did a quick check, and all of my cams had that checked already. Not sure why yours didn't by default?

All I can tell you is that the audio in Blue Iris is certified bamboozled
