2021 New Product From Dahua

I guess another big one here would not hurt anything.. LOL
I hardly even noticed you have cameras!

Specificaition released, this camera is bit big, dahua said normal poe can't make the power, so they made the DC power only.
Totally a new WebUI, looks like a NVR :)

No PoE? Man that is a step back in time.

If someone really wanted to they could simply use a 12 VDC POE splitter. Along with a POE++ Injector / Switch.

Personally, I’d follow the manufactures recommended installation method and power it via dedicated 12 VDC wiring.

If they state 3 amps I’m sure it will consume that current and more when the mercury drops!

Other manufacturers have ran into the situation where PoE+ 802.3at is not enough power for their device. So they use a proprietary, or non-IEEE method of PoE, and include the injector with the camera. Still more convenient than dedicated power supply and cable.
And then there is 802.3bt, which provides 71W to the device and should be enough for "everything".

It's an industrial level one, mainly for parking lot and traffic watching , can't get poe on freeway. :)

Yeah I was beginning to think that. A wide angle plus a zoom on the same cam suggest using one for over view and the other for a zoomed pic or even licence plate reader if the exposure settings are separate for each camera.

I was hoping to use one of these to replace a 4MP bullet watching the street in front of my house so that I can have nighttime LPR capability. Has anyone used one for that yet, and like @CCTVCam asks above, can the two cameras be adjusted independently for exposure settings?

In the end, it will probably be too big and ugly for what I was planning.

Who the heck would use this thing on their house! It's designed for a long stretch of road.
Manufactures see that we're nuts to want this giant thing on our houses.

Just get this one that most of us use for LPR!

Love your text in the picture LOL!

Is that enough zoom to get them at night consistently? Personally I would zoom in more, but I want the plate as large as possible to try to get as many as I can.
Works even better at night, I like to keep an eye on the neighbors mailbox so I don't have it zoomed all the way, that is about 100 ft.

Wait - you can run color at night? Please share a pic as you must have a ton of light. Not many of us can run color, so I always wanna see it and be jealous LOL.

What shutter speed do you run at night?

I should have been more clear, I can only see the mailbox during the day I have another camera that can see it at night.
We have have a bunch of mailbox thieves lately and they always come during the day.

I just found I caught my neighbors 30 ton log splitter being stolen. He mentioned it almost a week ago and said it probably happened during the day. We went back and reviewed clips back as far as February 1 and didn't find anything. Keep in mind I don't "watch" my neighbors driveway with my system specifically, but it does capture part of his driveway and the street. Talking with him today about it he mentioned he noticed tire tracks in the driveway one morning so I went back and started looking at night based on the last snowstorm we had. For some reason I started the night of February 23 at about 10PM.

Found it at 5:10AM on the morning of the 24th. It's not a great video, about 120 feet with about a 10mm focal length on a 2231 and in semi-color because of the snow that was still on the ground. At least we got a date and time and from the video know what kind of truck it was. Unfortunately for him, I haven't got LPR running......yet.
