That fw is for the Ultra-AI 7 series, not for the old Ultra (see here, download, firmware)

Is there any newer Nova firmware? The 190627 version crashes from time to time on all of my cams (Abort - Restart)...

Hey guys, is this the latest firmware? I'll wait to confirm before I update.
I have the IPC-HFW8232E-Z
It's under EOS instead of Nova?

If not EOS, what about this one?

The last six digits of the Software Name is the release date of the software in YYMMDD format.

So that's a NO to the EOS version.

The Nova version is the one that I am running, and is the latest that I can find.

Since updating to the latest firmware, the camera defocuses itself very day (I think which switching back to daytime mode). I have to manually log into the camera to refocus itself. How do I fix this? As it is it's is basically now worthless.

Yeah, getting up at daybreak can be a pita.

I have upgraded mine twice and had no problems at all. Have you tried switching it off and on again?

You haven't put the wrong firmware in, if that's what you are thinking, because the camera won't let you do that.

When you manually refocus the camera, do you mean you have to find the focus yourself, or do you just have to push the AutoFocus button?

If you purchased from Andy, I'm sure he will be happy to help you.

I have to autofocus because the window showing the camrea Is black on that screen. but after selecting autofocus the camera shows fine on the other tabs.

So, it sounds like the camera is just forgetting to auto focus when switching to daylight mode...

Ask Andy.

Did you upgrade with the version that Andy uploaded in Post #42 above?

Maybe there is some difference if you got it from the Dahua site, but I don't know.

Andy will know.

I updated to the Nova v2.640.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000006.0.R.190627

Reset the cam to factory default, and set it up again afterwards. Do NOT import a settings file exported with the previous firmware. That helped with a few problems I had.

However, the 190627 version "aborts" from time to time (probably in connection with IVS events), read: it crashes. Otherwise not issues, specifically no issues with focus.

Just realized I posted about the wrong camera, it's my IPC-HFW5231E-Z12E that is having issues going out of focus every time it comes out of night mode... However my ipc-hfw8232e-z is now acting up as well. Today I don't get any image at all when I woke up. I turned off smart codec and it seems to be ok now.
