3rd Party Cameras with HikVision NVR

Good Evening,

Am I right in saying that I would be unable to use line crossing detection or intrusion detection on the NVR with 3rd party cameras?

I'm using some cheap and nasty SV3C, and only seem to be able to set up continuous recording on the HikVision NVR. They are ONVIF "compatible", but from what I've read it is a partial implementation.
