4.2.9 - February 2, 2016

  • A large part of this release encompasses support for the next rev of the iOS client app version 1.52, hopefully released by Apple this week. These updates will come to the Android app shortly thereafter.
  • The automatic deletion of clips will consider the "protected" status of each clip's alerts. If any alert is marked protected, the clip itself will not be deleted.
  • A PTZ preset cycle button has been placed on the main window UI to the right of the preset buttons
  • A switch has been added to the Options/Joystick page to allow for the use of joysticks such as the Thrustmaster which does not have an auto-centering z-axis controller. In this mode, move the z-axis controller to an extreme position in order to send zoom commands. Move the controller away from the extreme positions to again use the joystick x/y positioning.
  • A PTZ speed setting has been added to the camera properties PTZ tab with a range 1-10. Not all cameras support a speed control.

Is there any information on what will be included in the Android app update?

Not in the release notes. Though it is a fair bet the "PTZ preset cycle button" could make an appearance since it seems like a logical thing to add after putting it in the main interface.

Huge Thank You for the PTZ speed controller!!! All is good with my AMD set up!

In case you havent seen it.
Push to talk now mutes local audio playback
Continuous auto-retry of dropped streams for more reliable long-term monitoring
Pause push notifications from status/devices list by long-pressing device
Time stamps for alert images on camera list
Specify startup camera or group
Send DIO output and reboot commands to cameras
Hide hidden or disabled cameras from camera list
WAN IP address is adopted when opening status push notifications
Some motion/trigger settings exposed on the camera settings page
Numerous bug fixes and other minor enhancements
Be sure to update to 4.2.9.0 on the PC software to take advantage of these features

The ability to hide a hidden camera from the app is something that lots of folks were asking for. Hopefully it will come to the android app with the next release.

I installed 4.2.9.1 and my CPU usage went down from 23% to 16%. No rise in GPU load according to GPU-Z.

EDIT: I restarted my computer and the CPU usage returned to 23%.

Does anyone know if this update fixed the issue of not being able to use HA under Windows 7 when running BI as a service?

I didn't notice much in CPU drop... I just rebooted my machine and.. WOW... went from 55% down to 38% :D

System info:
(i7-2600k, 16GB ram, WD Black drives, 24 cameras)

I am not certain if this patch caused a CPU usage drop or not. If it did, it isn't clearly noticable. But perhaps my configuration simply differs from those who saw a drop. (I optimize the heck out of my BI performance already)

Mine too dropped from around 24% down to 14% after the update!

I do note that I had some errors the first time I attempted the update though. See screen captures for one of the errors of two that I got during install. Second attempt went well though.

Interesting that several are seeing improvement in performance. Mine stayed exactly the same.
