Hi friends,
I have a DS-2cd223-i5, bought on Aliexpress (100% chinese)
The stick on the box says that it's a 5.3.0 firmware, but in fact it's a 5.2.5 multilanguage firmware, and reading a lot on this forum, I understand that the seller has downgraded the 5.3.0.
My question is: I've seen there is a 5.2.5 downgrade firmware with 4 lines (instead 1 in my 5.2.5 firmware) intrusion detection.
I'd like to have this function wich may be very usefull for me.
(https://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/4036-Custom-Firmware-Downgrader-5-3-0-Chinese-to-5-2-5-English first post)
Is there a way to safely flash this fimware in my ipcam without loosing the multilanguage?

Thanks in advance for your response.

You can just modify the binaries of your own camera if you choose,
Of use the attached firmware but you may need to perform the mtd hack.

I have checked the binaries in the post, just replace your Davinci with your one from the post, but make sure to keep a copy of your own incase it fails.

Do you mean davinci-525-patched.tar.gz from the first post of

by DemonicHawk?
I just have to extract my davinci and replace it with this one

I think it will be easier for me to flash the modified firmware (CH one?), but maybe it will change language back to chinese...

It's very likely that your language will change back to chinese if you flash it. If you want to replace the davinci binary, this tutorial will help: https://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/162-How-to-hack-5-1-2-firmware-on-China-region-cameras-to-English

Sorry, should have clarified. If you flash the CH firmware zip it'll likely revert to chinese language.

Yep, that's it
I have to extract the davinci included in my actual firmware in case of fail, then I have to rename the davinci you provided (davinci-525-patched.tar.gz) in davinci.tar.gz and replace it in my firmware as described here https://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread...ras-to-English, nothing else? And the language won't be changed?

Actually, one more thing I nearly forgot. You will need to run this command either before or after replacing the davinci.tar.gz; as long as it's during the same session:
Code:
sed -i 's/axf davinci/zxf davinci/' /dav/initrun.sh
But other than that, yes that's it. Your language won't be changed.

If you want an additional safety measure though, you can extract the actual davinci binary inside davinci-525-patched.tar.gz as well as the one inside the davinci.tar.gz from your existing firmware and then use a tool like VBinDiff.exe to compare the differences. A reference image is attached to this post: https://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/5854-5-2-X-Modified-Firmware-Increased-line-intrusion-ROI-limit-to-4

If its the same as the reference image, you likely won't have any issues (unless there's problems during the transfer). If it's different, you shouldn't replace the davinci file.
