We are in the process of upgrading our DVR's to something a little more playful. I have a bit of a background with Blue Iris, but have never idealized an array of this magnitude. I am planning on making all of the cameras (45-60 cams) 10 fps @ 720p resolution. I am curious if I could build a system with a single 6700k, or if I would need a server CPU (although I have heard that a lot of the Intel server CPU's do not have hardware acceleration).
60 cameras is a pretty damn big array and I have yet to hear of anyone attempting to create this big of an array, any advice or calculated requirements would be greatly appreciated
The reason why I have specified such a low frame rate and resolution (although ~7fps is known to be the industry threshold) is because I am required to keep 24/7 footage for 45 days (this is going to be a fun build is possible!).
I have also recently heard some people using a GPU to assist in the hardware acceleration?? Correct me if i am wrong.
Thank you!
