Well, I hooked it up to my network, and my 4216 NVR, which is not a 4K NVR found the camera. I assigned it a channel and set it for 4096x2160. It displays on PSS and on my phone. I recorded it onto my NVR and when I play it back, PSS tells me it's 4096x2160. So, for now, I know you can view 4K and record 4K on standard Dahua NVR's. I'm not sure why though, LOL.

Oh boy, now your are just teasing us :) when are you mounting this thing for photos?

Fenderman, for now, it's gonna go on my terrace. I need to find out more about how to record it and if I really need a 4K nvr or not.

I am a little confused. The setup screenshot shows bitrate as 16384, but your NVR screenshot shows bitrate at 6832. Are you missing any images while recording to the NVR?

Harrijs, I had the camera set at 6800 originally, than I bumped it up to 16384 just to show you guys what it's capable of.

Awesome. Looking forward to seeing some live view action.

Well, after further review, and logging into my NVR thru explorer, I found that it's only recording it as 3mp and it even pushed the camera to change to 3mp. I reset the camera to 4K and kept the NVR as 3mp. I'm not sure video playback can really be appreciated though. And even though the camera displays thru PSS, it does not appear when logged thru explorer. The camera does appear in my Iphone though. Looks like I'm going to have to pick up a 4K NVR for a full test and see if that can also record lower resolution cameras as well.

I can't really say where I got it from or how much I paid. I'm not sure about Milestone.

The good - Awesome picture!
The bad - Might need new equipment?
The ugly - You can't have too much storage. Petabyte - Exabyte - Zettabyte - or my favorite Yottabyte

The storage is dependent on number of 4K Ultra cameras you have!
