It is now more efficient (and given a limited CPU resource, perhaps now possible) to serve
multiple clients all pulling the same group or camera stream. Given identical encoding
parameters (fixed size image, no UI3 parameter overrides), the software will now share a
single camera or group encoding with multiple browser and phone clients.

A switch was made to the use of a Performance Data Helper in place of the previous
GetSystemTimes() for the calculation of system CPU usage. This is proving to be much
more accurate and the “scaling factor” on Settings/Other no longer may be necessary.

The /h264/ MPEG transport stream (.ts) now supports camera and group cycling.
Custom aspect ratios for the frame and camera windows are now supported in layout edit
mode.

I'm seeing that I still need to run 2.0 on my cpu scale factor to get it close to what BI is reporting. But it does seem better than before.

Update 5.9.6.2...

Ken added the following text (highlighted) to the Help PDF - chapter 'Cameras', section 'Artificial Intelligence' ...

If you are comparing with Task Manager's "Details" tab, that tab is often quite a bit lower than other CPU usage measurements. BI seems to be pretty close to what I get in the "Processes" tab. Still a little bit low though. BI reports 10% while Processes reports 11.3 - 11.6%.

One would think that CPU usage measurement would be more of a perfect science by now, but in my experience it has only gotten less reliable over time as CPU complexity continues to increase.

Well, 5.9.6.2 is very close now, but that version has a bug in it, so I am back to 5.9.6.1 which isn't close at all. The bug is when you use the "ON ALERT" feature and in my case, I was having a ptz cam go to a certain preset. BI would rename it to preset1 and to whatever location it was in. As I told Ken, it's like it is doing a long press on the PTZ number gui. Look for 5.9.6.3 soon :) I'm not expecting nothing over the holiday

Update 5.9.6.3...

Change to the HELP PDF, chapter 'Remote Acesss' ... Ken generalized the section named 'NGROK or PlayIt' to 'Tunnels and VPN'.

And for the first time he's added info about using VPNs, and more specifically for configuring Blue Iris to use ZeroTier.
