5.9.9 - January 17, 2025 - More Pre-6.0 feature releases

5.9.9.53

I failed to document this earlier. In 5.9.9.53, Ken added a new HTTP interface command:

/admin?camera=cam1&loadoverobs

This new command forces Blue Iris to reload the specified camera's overlay settings from the Windows registry.

Prior to this, overlay settings were loaded only on startup, or whenever the camera was reset. The consequence was that a programmatic change to an overlay's settings in the registry would not be displayed on the camera feed until the camera was reset. Now, by issuing this command, such changes appear instantly.

To date, this command is undocumented in the Help PDF.

Background (and teaser?): I requested this capability to support a new 'BI_overlay_tool' PowerShell script that I've been developing. It will enable users to dynamically modify overlay properties (colors, size, position, font, etc.), and even animate them, via Blue Iris Action sets, Task Scheduler tasks, etc.

It's by design that re-triggers with different memos will be additive if you are not using "exclusive source" retriggers.
However, it's a bug that LD/C would be added multiple times, I am fixing that.
You must be having a trigger and then a retrigger from another source, both LC/D and Mail's Here ...

I never noticed before that the 'New zones/sources only (Additive)' option merges memos from triggers from other sources. (In my case, it was from a Blue Iris HTTP interface command issued by a Shelly Wifi motion sensor inside the mail box.)

Yep, Blue Iris can be as complicated as you can make it. When you get old you forget all the things you had set to make things work the way you like. I am now simplifying my setup. LOL

5.9.9.56 (and 5.9.9.55)

[5.9.9.56] New license plate management button on Settings/AI. Keep tallies on plate numbers and assign them to custom lists to be used as AI labels for confirmation, cancelation and actions.

[5.9.9.55] Relocation of the PTZ Auto-tracking settings to the new AI page. An option has been added for auto-tracking to use the periodic AI scan objects instead of motion.

The attached PDF is the added pages to the 5.9.5.56 Help PDF file.

BTW, I've just discovered that ChatGPT is handy for comparing the substantive changes between two PDF files. I'm playing with a query like the following.

WARNING: I am not getting the same quality of response when I re-ask the question, so YMMV.

Please compare this updated Blue Iris Help PDF with the previous version. I want three things:
1. A summary of all substantive changes (not formatting/pagination), especially from the 'Update notes' and any new content in the 'HTTP interface', or 'JSON interface' sections. Include page numbers.
2. A merged PDF containing only the substantively new or changed pages (not formatting/pagination) from the updated document.
3. An annotated version of those new pages with callouts/highlights showing what changed and why it matters.
The newer file is: 5.9.9.56.pdf. The prior version is: 5.9.9.55.pdf.
