Hi,

I've been using blue iris now for a few years. I've always been recording only motion but recently have noticed I've missed events occasionally.
I do store a few months but this is only motion. I want to record 24/7 but only have enough space for maybe a few days.

Would it be possible (and if so how?) to...
1. Record continuously, leave on motion triggering to keep alert clips you can skip through.
2. Have an archive rule which takes the files after a few days from the new directory to the stored directory, but only saves the motion detected parts of the video?

If not possible yet, it would be a great feature! (For me anyway)...

Hi, I think one solution is to clone that camera, then you can configure each one independently. One of them you can use for continuous recording, and the other one for motion trigger/alerts.

Thanks, I'll set that up for now.

Would be good to know if such a feature might be added in future though.

Likely not..you need to email support and ask..anyone else would be guessing.
