Hi everybody, i'm experiencing a very strange problem, since one of the last Blue Iris updates when i start it works as usual keeping the cpu usage ab about 25/28% as it did for more than 1 year ( the system has 12 hikvision cameras, i7-7700 cpu with 16gb ram, on windows 10 pro 1709 build 16299.19 ) but if i return to check the cameras after a couple of hours it goes up to 90/100% and does not return back..... If i close Blue Iris and restart it comes back to the usual 25/28% cpu usage..... I did not change anything in my system, anyone just experienced this problem? Thanks in advance.....

Windows isn't as reliable as linux. (For example Debian)

Blue Iris looks nice though. Sadly most programs just aren't available on linux or there are no good alternatives.
It is just as reliable...I run over 20 blue iris machines on windows...no problems...mostly silly linux fanboys who think otherwise...there are plenty of vms available for linux, you just wont get it for 60 dollars.

I have just updated to windows 10 build 1709. And have the high cpu problems. Sits at 30%, then grows up to 60-70% after a few hours.
I did have 'memory' leak problems previously.
I have intel HD graphics 530, running latest version from intel web site,
22.20.16.4815, 26/09/2017
Btw, I only updated to Windows 1709 build initially, It contained a different driver then listed above. Hence i can only assume more people who update to 1709 will get the high CPU usage again.

Just about to downgrade to 15.45 to see if it fixes it. (appears it has, as below)
It feels like a different issue then i had previously.
Anyone else updated to latest windows 10 build, 1709 ?

I have an i5-6500 and was having the same problem. I looked at my driver version and it said 10.something 2009. I should paid more attention to the version number but I saw 2009 and thought I had a really out dated version. So I installed the latest on the intel site, at the same time I changed BI to keep all files in the NEW folder and stop moving them to Stored. Between the 2, not sure what had the biggest impact but now I'm runing 17% and have never been that low. I generally run 30-40%. We'll see what happens over the next few days.

Edit, oops still at 35%. When I posted that I was rebuilding the data base which meant recordings werent happening Im assuming.

Anyone know which version I should be using for the I5 6500?
Hello Forum,
@drunkpenguin, I don't know if this will help you, but I too have an i5-6500. The Intel HD Graphics 530 with driver 21.20.16.4551 (11/18/2016) has had no noticeable problems. I nevertheless decided last night to updated the driver to 22.20.16.4749 (07/24/2017) and soon noticed the BI CPU usage creeping up. With the 4551 driver, the usage was around 8% (6-4MP and 1-2MP cameras). The 4749 driver would start the same, but within 5-10 minutes, CPU would be at around 16%. Tried restarting BI a few times with the same results. I didn't care for waiting too long, uninstalled 4749, now everything is running smooth again with 4551.
