Trying to add some new cameras to my NVR

cameras DS-2DE3304W-DE
nvr ds-7608ni-e2/8p

Ive gone into sadp and changed the ip on the camera and match it with the IP on the NVR
I have the same ports
and I know the password and username is right but i keep getting this error

the only thing i can think of is the cameras i have are chinese and my nvr is english

language mismatch compatibility issue?

can log into the camera fine if i just hook it up to a switch by itself and use the log in and IP.

what exactly do you need to know?

ipv4 addresses are the same 192.168.1.20 (this isnt being used with anything else on my router)
gateway is 192.168.1.1
management port 8000

manually add in the NVR
using hikvision protocol
the IP i set in sadp
the same port
right user name and password
auto transfer protocol

You say 'changed the ip on the camera and match it with the IP on the NVR', do you mean the NVR and Camera are both 192.168.1.20?
If this is the case then this will not work, all devices must have a different IP address if on the same segment of the LAN.

They should be on the same subnet though for this to work, i.e 192.168.1.*

Try giving the Camera another IP in this range and see if this help.

Is the camera connected to the NVR via the POE ports or through the network?

If it's through the POE ports, I'd try factory resetting the camera and allowing the NVR to auto configure.

camera has 192.168.1.20
NVR POE port in camera management has 192.168.1.20

i will do a reset if necessary but they are brand new cameras

I had an similar issue with Chinese cameras on my English NVR. I think as they flash the English Firmware on there, they leave some settings in place.

First I had to get it onto my network so I could change the password, then it wouldn't connect to the NVR, but I cannot remember the error message. It might have been something to do with the Network.
There was a thread on here that advised to factory reset it, which after I did the NVR picked it up via plug/play and everything has been rosy since.

camera has 192.168.1.20
NVR POE port in camera management has 192.168.1.20
If the camera is plugged in to an NVR PoE port - that IP address will not work.
Using those values is what you would have to do on an NVR PoE channel configuration to connect a camera that's connected on the LAN, not to an NVR PoE port.
If it is an NVR PoE-connected camera, then both the camera and the NVR PoE channel need to be configured with an IP address in the range used by the NVR PoE interface.
That's usually 192.168.254.x

thank you guys for the help
i was able to get the NVR to accept the camera with the IP the NVR had for each POE port and get a new error
Language Mismatch

i tried to add it as a ONVIF protocol but still language mismatch. i believe the firmware is 5.4.0

dont even see it on hikvision site or anywhere so im guessing it cant be modified

That's a bummer - you've been bitten with the stupid Hikvision region locking tactic.
But - there may be a way forward.
What's the version of firmware on the NVR?
I found that the 3.4.91 NVR firmware doesn't give a language mismatch on a 3335 CN camera on the 5.3.3 firmware.
I'm wondering if that would be worth exploring?

*edit* I meant to say - that's with an ONVIF connection.
