After update, clips are very long

I recently updated to version 5.8.3.3. Since updating, I no longer get "clips". All of the recordings are between 4 and 8 hours. I checked the "recording" tab of BI and see that all my cameras now have a "Combine or cut video each: 8 hrs, 0 mins 4gb". I haven't change this, but suspect this is the reason for the long clips. Has there been a change in how clips are handled?

That is the default setting...You might be confusing clips and alerts
