Hello members,

I want to introduce my new mobile app that adds AI based object detection to your existing cameras. It's called aiwatch and available as an android app . All processing runs locally on the device, so no cloud or privacy concerns. Put your spare phone/tablet to good use. Below are some of its features,

* Ip camera Viewer - Use as both ip camera viewer and ip camera monitor
* Supports most brands - Amcrest, Axis, Foscam, Dahua, Reolink, Hikvision, generic onvif and many more. If your camera supports rtsp or http protocol, it's most likely compatible.
* Smart alerts - Alert only when matters. Accurately detect person, animal and vehicles
* Pre-recording - 10 seconds Pre-record Motion Detection. You don't miss the moments before the motion
* Flexible setup options - Use any device as just monitor or receiver or both. We recommend using your spare phone or tablet at home as monitor and your primary phone as viewer.
* smartthings and Alexa Integration
* Voice notification - Read aloud any motion detection
* Customizable Activity Zone for each camera
* Continous video recording(experimental)

Would love to hear any feedback from you guys.

A Quick test and first impressions. Fail :(

Test parameters
Android device : NVIDIA SHIELD tablet K1, Android 7

Camera: Dahua 3mp, 2048x1535 ,10fps ,h264.h

Scan was unable to identify any cameras.
It found their IPs.
I have multiple ONVIF compatible cameras on the network.

Manually adding a camera does not have a prefilled "Video URL"
It does have a link that will open up ipsyconnect.com

The app does have a built in wakelock.
If the device goes to sleep, monitoring appears to stop?

The monitoring toggle at the top of the camera view says on.
But can not enable monitoring in camera.

I can not confirm it works at all as even when I manually kept it awake it failed to detect anything.
It connect to the camera fine and shows a live video.

Lots of work needed.

The ad popups worked though. ;) Every time you clicked on the event tab.

Recommendation to programmer, post up a known working configurations.
Android device, cameras.
Even a demo video from start to getting first camera up and logging events.

Hi there,

Thanks for your valuable feedback. Could you check the below configs,

1. In your camera settings, are any options (notify or record) like "Person Detected", "Vehicle Detected", "Animal Detected" checked?
2. Monitoring should not stop even if the app goes to sleep. You should see a foreground service notification icon saying "aiwatch is monitoring"
3. I haven't tested with Nvidia tablets. Can you check if animal detection works with this rtsp url "rtsp:/wowzaec2demo.streamlock.net/vod/mp4:BigBuckBunny_115k.mov" ? You should see "Animal detected" notification ~20 seconds mark. I just found that my previous http based url's are not supported by app.
4. Also, if you have any other type of android phone or tablet, can you test with that?
4. I would be happy to give you access to premium features for free if you could help with more feedback. Please send me your google play email-id and I will add you as premium feature tester.

I'm working on supporting the http url.

Cheers,
Ram.

Good to see the quick response. :)

1. It was not, there was no mention of it in the FAQ so I assumed getting a live picture from the camera would be all I needed to do for basic functionality.
Some more tips/toast messages would be good to notify users of issues.
Have turn them on and seems to be working as expected. :)

2.Now that rules are enable hopefully it operates as intended.

3. Will add and will report.

4. I have a few devices. Samsungs Notes/S/Tabs from 4-8 :p

5. I have messaged you. ;)
