AI: not responding

As far as I can tell, for the camera settings in post #38, you are not saving hi-res or AI makeup JPGs, alert MP4s, or DAT files to the Alerts folder.

this is what it does alerts and then it deletes itself so odd
I've never seen this before.

Does the log show any error or clips-related messages that might provide clues?
For example...
Code:
0 2/17/2025 4:15:24.902 AM Alerts Delete: over quota 3.00/3.00GB, 722.2GB free
0 2/17/2025 4:15:25.161 AM Clips DeleteFile OK: D:\BlueIris\Alerts\DW1.20250130_170000.190626.5-0.jpg
0 2/17/2025 4:15:25.225 AM Clips DeleteFile OK: D:\BlueIris\Alerts\DW1.20250130_170000.251082.5-0.jpg
0 2/17/2025 4:15:25.228 AM Alerts Delete: 2 items 2.19MB 395 locked
0 2/17/2025 4:20:25.443 AM Alerts Delete: nothing to do [2.99/3.00GB, 721.0GB free]

I'm confused. So the screenshot in post #33 is not the current configuration for the Alerts folder?

That post shows a size of 0 GB, and deletes the alert files once they exceed 0 GB.

That is why I posted that - his shows 0 and I think he should have a nominal 1GB.

Something else to keep in mind,..

Even if you do not configure your cameras to save any files to the Alerts folder (hi-res or AI makeup JPGs, alert MP4s, or DAT files), Blue Iris still saves temp JPG files (named like temp_{camname}.jpg) to the folder, so that they can be used by actions in the 'On alerts' action set that use the &ALERT_PATH macro (more here). This alone would seem to require a minimum allocation.

I cannot see any minimum allocation recommendation in the Help PDF. I've emailed Ken for confirmation.

That is the current one. That may be the issue. Originally I never set up the storage properly. I want to keep all alerts and then delete them after like a month.

Storage is not the problem.

The alerts at 1GB is fine since you are not saving any of the hi rez or AI type files.

Since you have two large drives, I would spread your cameras over the E and F drives.

But be strategic.

Let's say for simplistic purposes you have 8 cameras - 2 on each side of the house.

Many will put the front and back on one drive and the sides of the house on the other.

But what happens when a drive fails - you lose all the video from that portion of the house.

So instead split them - put 1 from each side on one drive and the other camera from each side on the other drive.

That way when a HDD fails, you at least have some coverage from each side.

I hate to sound like arrogant but can you show me how to achieve this?

What information do you need and do you think its beneficial to store some AI stuff or not for example faces?

My point is that the alerts happen but now are now no longer being recorded or showing on the timeline and I have not changed anything on the settings for this to stop working.

Both your Stored and Alerts are set to 0GB with the next action being delete.

On the Storage Tab under "New" make the next action tomove to "Stored". Under "stored" change the size to something more than 0GB. Under "alerts" change it to something more than 0GB.

Stored is fine to leave at 0GB since it isn't being used.

Best practice is to not use stored if it is a drive in the same "box" and especially not if both new and stored are on the same drive. Only use stored if using a NAS.

I get that too and have to stop and restart CPAI. One of the reasons why I continue to prefer the AI of the camera.
