Alarm Push Notification - connection failed trying to set alarm on iVMS4500

I note a few other threads on this subject but have not found a solution as yet so asking for help.
I have Australian channel 7732NI-I416P NVR recently purchased (May 2016).
I have a number of PC's and smart phones working to it remotely (static public IP, port 8000) using latest iVms4200 on PC's and iVms4500 V4.3 on mobile devices (Androids).
I have Motion and Line Crossing enabled, 24x7 arming, and linkage to Email and Notify Surveillance Center enabled (plus recording of course).
Email notifications and all other remote functions appear to work OK.
I have not tested this function on site as yet connected directly to the the internal network (ie with my phone on the same subnet) - only remotely via the Internet.

Have only tried a couple of devices so far (Androids), but when I try and set the alarm to ON there is quite a delay and then I get "connection failed".
An NVR at another site I monitor fails immediately with "Not Supported by Device" (but I have not configured this unit and suggest it would not be set to notify).

From the various links I have seen on relevant settings for Notify Surveillance Center, my configuration appears to be the same.

Any suggestions appreciated - especially if there is another port that is meant to be forwarded besides 8000 (I have seen RTSP 554 mentioned in one link but that had no effect).

I believe you need to forward the http port for push notifications to work...

OK - if you are referring to http outbound from the NVR, then that network has open access to the web so port 80 would not be blocked outbound from the NVR which (in PUSH mode) is the direction in which I would expect the communication to be happening.

If however you are referring to port 80 inbound to the NVR, then you have given me something to work on.

The current internet modem does not appear to be forwarding port 80 into the local network even though it is set up to do so (without elaborating I suspect the Internet modem itself for this). I will firstly change the modem to another that I know will let port 80 through to the NVR and see if that is the issue.

The NVR network is actually behind a second router - the second router I know is forwarding port 80 to the NVR network as I can login to the NVR web interface from the admin network, but (as I have just discovered) I cannot get to the web interface remotely - hence I suspect the Internet modem. The Internet modem simply forwards these ports on to the second router - which is working for port 8000 at least but not port 80.

Dont over complicate it..change the http port to something other than 80 and forward it...or use vpn...opening the http port to the internet is unsafe.

Thanks for replies.
I have done as fenderman suggested using a more obscure port and can now set the alarm on the mobile devices. I also verified my settings as per the link peraburek posted.
I still get emails but no corresponding alarm notification on the devices so I am still looking for a reason.

The only way I got it to work was to open port 80 in my router and forward it to the NVR.

As an update, I setup another similar NVR at another site today (7616NI-I2 ) the same way I have setup the 32 channel unit and the alarm notifications are working fine from this second NVR.
So it appears it is not the method but there is some other reason the 32 channel unit is not giving me the notifications.
I will update again for information to others when I find the reason.

Yes the http port has to be forwarded as stated by fenderman earlier in the thread, and as also suggested by fenderman I have set the NVR to use a different port for http and forwarded that port number.
