Maybe use a motion detector to activate a small flash each time a boat comes by. Put up a sign saying boats damaging dock will be prosecuted. Even though you might not be able to. They won’t know that.

Yep i think the lateral board(s) and some heavy duty bumpers will do the trick. I do kinda like the idea of a Tioc down there.. can you program a custom sound with thiose when they activate an IVS line?

That still requires lateral boards so it’s smooth on the outside. I’d more inclined to use way too many screws and not quite run all of them in, a little reminder to stay away from the dock when it looks like somebody keyed the side of their boat
