Hi all,

I wanna make sure I'm not missing anything major (like almost accidently buying a micro, which nearly happened earlier today). Looking at these two PCs on eBay, similar specs and price. Will be my first IP cam setup that doesn't come in a box set, and I plan on running BI, probably 6 cams to start, eventually anywhere from 12-20+, who knows. Plus maybe sensors, etc. Whatever wild hairs find my ass, heheh.

I'm guessing BI's AI is likely gonna be used for at least a couple cams so I want to make sure whatever I pick up isn't gonna be underpowered. Oh and I'll be adding (most likely) WD Purple 8TB HDDs.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Love the community here.

If you dont need 2x3.5 drive bays there is a dell sff i5-12500 that you can probably get for under 400. Also the i7-11700 machines can be had for 300-400 which are about the same as the i5-12500 power wise....
Note the i5-13500 systems have a significant 50 percent benchmark improvement over the i5-12500 however prices are still high at about 500-600 on the used market for dell optiplex...

If there's a space for me to put in a WD Purple Pro, I'm golden. I haven't found one that matched the specs you posted, but searching on mobile isn't a very user-friendly experience.

I found this for $250 on a different site:
HP EliteDesk 800 G5 SFF- Core i5-9500, 16GB Ram, 256 GB SSD, Win 10 pro, WiFi, Bluetooth

Again I feel like I may be missing something here...it's only 9th gen processor and a small-ish SSD but it's about the best deal I've found. I only look sporadically though. I'd definitely prefer a 12th gen like you found.

Lemme go look again.
