Are WD Purple the only way to go? Will a regular HDD or SSD work for recordning DVR/VIDEO?

Hi, seems everyone uses purple WD. Anyone use SSD or regular drive?

I have a bunch of regular HDDs sitting around. What are your thoughts?

This subject has been hammered home on this site. Use what you want, HOWEVER if you want it to last and need accuracy then use the correct drive for the job. Western Digital and seagate both produce drives for this purpose. Nuff said

The seagate's have NOT been talked about much as of yet, I have not personally used them.
