Unless I'm missing something obvious object missing detection is not listed in your .jpg from the manual. As noted in my original question I looked there and did not see it noted.

Is this feature available in the gui as an option/setting?

I doubt this low budget camera would have MISSING OBJECT DETECTION this feature is usually only found in higher end models and PTZ's.

That suprises me Alastair, my DS-2CD2087G2-LU does not have this feature.

I'm also surprised I'm picking up a dahua ipc 4kx bullet but was looking for a 1/2in turret as well fir my install. I would like this feature though. Looks like I'll need the larger footprint of the dahua bullet instead since they currently don't make a turret in this sensor size

Pretty much the same camera as the DS-2CD2087G2-LU which is a bullet style and this is a turret style but around the same price here in UK
I see there is a Black version also. 2.8mm & 4mm

Could I ask, is this through a trade only supplier or available to the general public? I've seen them for sale on Use-IP's website but they are double the price which is a little on the steep side in comparison.

That price is trade but if you or a family member has a trade such as an electrician or alike, then it is so easy to get a trade account like many other UK members have done here on the forum.
