Note: PVC pipes may droop in hot attics, so remember to appropriately secure them.

If you are going to have exposed runs of PVC outside, make sure you use expansion fittings and more straps than you think are necessary. PVC expands and contracts a lot more than most people realize.

I just use my heat gun, wear gloves and take it nice and slow - but I never made a 'corkscrew' type bend

One other thing about many common types of pvc pipe - it is very brittle in the cold.

indeed... I've watched some unusual youtubers, so I've come to expect unusual behavior. Guess it is a character trait like Blofeld and his cat in Bond.

this takes me back, we used gray pvc for the frame in 'build your own snow shoes' in boy scouts.

Those chest pull exercise devices that have 5 springs between two handles work perfectly to bend 3/4 inch PVC. The springs are almost the exact same diameter as the inside of the pipe and they don't allow the pipe to flatten out. They will keep the pipe nearly perfectly round for the entire radius.
