Best deal on Imporx (Huisun) v2!

Don't use cheap non-branded PoE stuff unless it is supplied by the same supplier with a guarantee of compatibility and a guarantee for a decent period of time.

I'd rather spend and extra $10 / $20 for reliability and a guarantee.

I have 3 of these. They all work well. The LED is a little bright. That's all. $13

I took a look at that one but did not get it because the numbers did not match up. Maybe I am not understanding because the camera calls for:
DC12V±10% 1.5A

That item says 48V 0.4A power output

So I thought it needed one that was 12volt and did 1.5A with at least 18W (maybe more wattage since the run is so long?)

Oye.
Sometimes I wonder if you guys actually read this forum.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AVYIMF4/

It is a POE problem! These cameras have POE issues.

Oye.

Yes I read the forum trying to learn. The POE problems that I read about were POE boards that go completely dead and the solution to that was a POE spiltter. When I ordered the camera I went ahead and ordered a POE splitter just in case. BUT, my POE board is not dead because the camera still works.

Is what I am using to power it. I have it in the first poe spot and 3 poe Reolink 410's in the other 3 poe spots.

I figured that would be enough because it states up to 30W per port with a 60W total. So I thought that would be plenty of power with room to spare. :P

Was considering:

But POE injector a lot cheaper. :)

BTW I use CAT6 cable.

Dang it, sorry for all the edits. Keep adding info.

Well sorry for sounding snarky. And since these threads get soooo long and wander through topics, it can be difficult to follow.

Anyway, I have the exact same problem you described as did a couple other folks on here. Powering externally with a 1.5 amp 12vdc supply solved it. So did the device I linked.
Not sure if you mentioned trying the external 12vdc. (I need to read more!)

So the guess/hypothesis is it is a POE problem. The POE boards are under performing and do not supply enough power to the camera. When the ir comes on at night this draws the most power and a camera "on the border" of failure due to low voltage, suddenly drops to where it fails and re-boots. It is not just a matter of the poe board working or not. It just barely works during the day and fails at night. So try the external supply and you will know.

My two cents.

Good luck!

I received my 2nd camera from Jack. Took about 3 weeks to get to me in Los Angeles. Saved about $7 more (paid $131.76) by using a cashback site. My first camera (v2) has been working great with my Hik NVR.

Has anyone figured out why the package has a Sugar Land, Texas address also? Ren Dixon it says. A quick search turns up a Karen Dixon at the address. I wonder for those who have had problems, if i'd be an option to ship returns/issues to that address instead of back to China.

Nope, didn't work. In fact it is worse. I don't even have to zoom, just pan or tilt it and it restarts. Tomorrow I will add the PoE splitter into the mix to see if that helps.

Have you powered the camera with a 12vdc (preferably 2 amp) supply?

I am not sure what a "poe splitter" is but you need to give up on poe.

Me Thinks

No I haven't. But I do not have a power supply near it that I could use.

Any luck with using the splitter?

**sigh** no dice.

Using first with just the PoE switch. Should have been power to spare. It did work at first but now does the dance at night when trying to zoom. So I ordered the PoE injector. (already had the splitter on hand)

Next I tried using just the Injector. No dice.

Then I tried the injector with the splitter. No dice.

Then I tried the switch with the splitter. Nope nadda.

All wiring is Cat6 and it is good.

So looks like I have got a great PTZ daytime camera and a good stationary night time. Grrrr....

This should have had enough power to spare, but you need to isolate the issue. Is it a switch POE issue? Is the cable length too long? Or is it a POE board issue on the cam? Have you tried connecting a shorter cable from the switch and/or tested different ports?

Next I tried using just the Injector. No dice.

If this didnt work either, then it's probably not a switch or injector issue. Still don't know if the cable run is too long or if the POE board on the cam is defective.

Then I tried the injector with the splitter. No dice.

You mentioned the cam works fine during the day, but not at night. So it sounds like the cam isn't receiving enough power at night. The splitter you linked looks like the max output is only 15.4w.

Then I tried the switch with the splitter. Nope nadda.

Bottleneck still at the splitter.

See above.

I don't have experience with this, but you might need something like this:

Well, I ordered those two things, if this does not work I give up. I will just once again have a good daytime camera.

I think I did this right. I multiplied volts 12v times amps 2, and that gives me 24 watts. If I did that right even allowing for the 100' Cat6 run there still should be plenty wattage left to power the camera. I hope.

This $138.00 camera is winding up to be about $200.00. It better work as intended this time. :P

Deck still is not done, wife does want to feel safe. But she still says deck before PC because she don't want any of our grand kids to fall through the deck. It better work or she will be a might pissed at me.
