before BI, my desktop was running super quiet. after BI was installed, the fan is certainly noticeable. should i be worried or is this normal?

63% for CPU seems awfully high for a i7 7th gen.

Did you exclude BI and associated video from antivirus?

Are you using the computer for anything else?

Did you do all the optimizations in the wiki ? Substreams and direct to disc is a must.

Is the fan clean?

in my experience, in addition to blowing out the dust and checking the fan,

sometimes the heatsinks need to be removed and the thermal paste replaced, and the heatsink reinstalled.

This is a Dell precision 3630 tower running BI with 6 cores and 12 threads. in an air conditioned basement with 8-9 cams. factory stock was 2 case fans.
My HP Elitedesk g4-800 SFF i5-8500 ran in the 80's most of the time with 15-18 cams. still going 2 years later. running in an uncooled workshop. with 4" boiler pipes running across the ceiling at 150F.
