Hi all-
I switched my wifi to google nest Wifi which moved everything to another subnet. I reconfigured all cameras for the new subnet and
put the BI server on this same subnet. All cameras show up in BI fine. I also use Actiontiles. Came to notice if I do a telnet to my
server ip and port 81 I don’t get a connection. If I go to the command prompt and type in netstat -ano I see no port 81. Port 81 is the
configured port in BI. Even used Advanced Port Scanner on that machine and did not see port 81.

what logs can I check, or what can I check to nail this down? Actiontiles uses the ip and port in the url and I assume Actiontiles doesn’t
show the cameras bc port 81 is not responding. Ideas?

You can’t telnet using port 81, that would normally be setup as a BI web service port. So try the same from a browser.

1) if you have a firewall or antivirus on the BI machine, turn it off.
2) If the BI machine is connected directly to the router, move the connection to a switch.
3) From another computer hardwired on the local home network, that is not directly connected to the router, try to start the BI web interface.
4) after verifying that the hardwired direct connect works, then try your wifi.

where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxis the local internal IP address of the BI PC.

Private ip addresses. Local IP addresses. These addresses are NOT used by the internet. They are for your local home/business network.
10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255
172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255
192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255

I use port 8081 and I use a VPN for external internet access, So all i every use is the local address

I understand about the non-routable IP space. Firewall is off. The BI machine is technically on a 1Gb switch wired to a laptop in my rec room. Are you saying take
the BI machine and place it on the local network, 192.168.1.x? If so that will not work, my camera's are on the 86.x subnet. I worked with Google to try and get forwarding
working but never succeeded.

Every thing needs to be on the same local subnet. The first three numbers need to be the same. No devices on WIFI for the initial setup.

Provided a detailed network diagram. Indicate devises with model numbers, ip address and connection type

Fixed this issue by re-running the BI remote access wizard. Port 81 then showed up and ActionTiles worked!

Thank you all for the suggestions and help.
