BI not listing Alerts

Over the last day, I have stopped getting notices of Alerts in the little timeline bar at the bottom of the screen. But, it appears that BI is still triggering and recording correctly. For example, I have one camera set to record only upon triggering, when a car drives by (LPR). BI is triggering and recording correctly, but there is no "alert" being identified in the timeline bar. So, I have no way of knowing that anything happened.

what settings have you changed?

I added a new camera, a LPR IPC-HFW5231E-Z12. I set it to record only upon trigger. Nothing else.

under the trigger tab ensure capture alert list image is selected.
