Blue Iris UI3

Can you check the codec info with something like VLC to see if the audio is there?

Does audio work when playing the clip in UI3?

I've been playing the clips on this craptop with Windoze media player which could very well be the problem. Audio plays in the clips, and is available "live stream" through UI3. I'll double check with VLC and let you know for sure.

I just installed VLC on this thing, shoulda done that long ago, and golly gee, audio with the clips. So much for Windoze media player.

With the HTML5 player in Firefox 61 I get the "click anywhere to begin" message but it won't go away when I click. I see the screen behind
refreshes but the message stays. It's UI v40 with 4.7.6.8 Blue Iris.

Thanks for reporting. The next UI3 update (version 42) will have this fixed.
I had to manually navigate to about:config and set media.autoplay.enabled to false in order for my Firefox to bring up that message in the first place. You could set that = true to allow video to auto-play without user-input.

Since this is Firefox, you may actually be better off with the JavaScript player. Firefox does a poor job handling low latency HTML5 video.

Using Edge the html5 player is even worse. It's laggy and stutters and I get the popup message about browser compatibility.

Yes, Edge is even worse.

Chrome is currently the best browser for UI3. Safari (on Mac, not on iOS) is okay I think, depending on the mac you're running it on. Opera is okay but I believe it requires user input before audio will begin to play.

Edge performs terribly in my experience, especially when using the HTML5 video player where it forces over 3 seconds of video delay. Firefox doesn't support UI3's H.264 streaming unless you change those settings in about:config, and then its HTML5 player requires a very short iframe interval or else it becomes extremely inefficient at decoding.

Lastly UI3 on iOS (iPhone, iPad) is missing a lot of important features because Apple wants to dictate everything a web app can do.

Version 42 is now available, which fixes the previously mentioned initialization failure in Firefox.

both errors happend more than once, although it was not everytime.

Just an anecdotal, general comment.

I use Win10/Pro and Opera for a browser. I have been able to use the HTML5 stream with no problem, up until yesterday. Yesterday Windoze did a major update, took over two hours on an i5 craptop. Ever since then, I can't use the HTML5 stream without getting error messages. I checked FireFox and that errors when I turn audio on or off. Edge seems to work as it did prior to the Windoze update. Somehow, I suspect "hanky panky", either deliberate or unintended is a question, by Microsoft. They also did me the big favor of adding a desktop icon for Edge, even though I rarely, if ever, use it.

Okay, UI3 version 42 has some serious problems resulting from updating the HTML5 player backend. I'm going to revert that to the previous version.

I never was able to reproduce the "PIPELINE_ERROR_COULD_NOT_RENDER" in Chrome, but the other errors definitely happen to everyone. There I saw the Chrome error in a window that had not yet been refreshed to version 43. No idea what would have caused that one-- it doesn't seem to happen consistently.

Version 43 is now available, which reverts to the previous version of the HTML5 player that didn't suffer from those new issues.

Opera error -
View attachment 31339

I get this yellow "stream is becoming delayed" message with Opera fairly often as well. Ever since switching to Opera to run UI3. The stream for sure becomes very delayed so it's not false information =). A quick refresh always fixes it though for awhile. Been to busy to try to find a pattern with it..

Running UI3 V40 still though. Will update to V43 sometime here.......

The error messages went away with V43 in both Opera and FireFox. I still think Microsoft had something to do with it...where's my tinfoil hat?

I've also had a yellow "network is to slow for this stream" error when running a camera cycle group via Opera. Even with a low network load and I've speed tested my network to the BI server at around 700Mbps so it's not that slow. I believe I have all our PC's on the windows 10 1803

Anyways, just some FYI's. It's been manageable :)

Mkay.. I updated to V43... I'll keep an eye out for anymore yellow pop-ups. Muy Bueno!

The camera group cycles are a little inconsistent in their performance, pausing sometimes when changing cameras. I don't know if this is an internal issue in Blue Iris, or if something weird about the stream is making UI3 choke on it a little. Group cycle streams have had a lot of bugs over the years. Regardless anything that makes the stream pause for long enough may result in UI3 believing the network or CPU are too slow.
