Hello, been running BI for quote some time, just noticed that the CPU (i7-2600k @ 3.4GHz) is running quite high sitting around 70% for BlueIris.exe, mem usage for BI is 2.5GB

I'm running 5 x IP Hikvision, Direct to Disk recording enabled. Cameras are running a mix of 15fts and 20fps.
Any ideas why this is so high? From the stats found on this page Blue Iris Update Helper I see many users running similar number of cams with far less CPU usage.

Any tips would be appreciated!

Thanks

you need to provide more details on the cameras. 5 1mp cameras of 5 8mp cameras?

h.265 requires more processing power and cannot utilize intel HA. Your system is a second gen, but i believe that processor has the 3000 graphics that should support quickync for res higher than 1080 when using h264. Still your numbers are high.
Also unrelated, match your iframe intervals to your fps.
see the wiki on optimizing blue iris.

Thanks, I've reverted back to h264, will have a read of the wiki and let you know.

Following the wiki BI cpu usage is now a much more reasonable 30~40%.
Now after also enabling "limit decoding unless required" it's down to 15-22%
Very happy with the results now, thank you so much for the assistance!

Do not use limit decoding. it will make motion detection useless.

So this [Camera Properties>Video tab>Limit decoding unless required] will disable motion detection?
