Cable labeling system

What is your favorite labeling scheme to label cameras at the switch?
Let's say I have 30 cameras on the floor.
I want to label each cable run/camera on the third floor. I was thinking of a basic labeling pattern where:

C30-->Camera 30
C31-->Camera 31

and so on, BUT with a very likely expansion down the road if I add a couple of cameras to the floor this will throw the whole order out of the window, where a label will no longer correspond to the camera (or IP addresses as they might get reassigned). What is the best practice in such a scenario? Any thoughts?

I label the cabling with what I name the camera location, such as “Front Door”.

I labeled my last cables by "LAN" number, you could call them "Cable", "camera" or whatever you want to but I posted a cable legend on the switch, along with a schematic layout on the panel door. To simplify, in this instance I was also able to make the "LAN" number on the cable the same as the port number on the switch.

I have a 12 port patch panel and 18 port switch dedicated to the cameras. I marked each cable with the patch port number before pulling. Each camera's IP address is the port number + 100. So the camera on port 12 is 192.168.140.112. I also have an Excel sheet with details on my network. One tab is for the cameras and shows physical location, IP address, patch port panel, model number etc.

In my case, its highly unlikely that I'll have more than 12 cameras. In your case, you should reserve some address space for future cameras.
