Hey folks, do cams sometimes just corrupt and lose configuration? I have an outdoor wifi cam (cant recall make atm but i will check later) and for the past 2 days or so it seems its been unable to reconnect back to my network, ive tried restarting the access point it goes through.

Im considering taking it down and trying to facotry reset and reconfigure but its been a while since i did that and would prefer to avoid if i can

are you on WIFI or are you hard wired ?
Are you using an NVR or a VMS (Blue iris) ?
If hardwired are you using POE of power ?
if hardwired is the connector protected ? Are you using dielectric grease?
The make and model number of the camera ?

I would take the camera down and use a short premade(not home made) cable to test the camera as a starting point. Make sure the connector is clean A reset is not needed as the first step.

  • Dont have make and model will check tonight
  • Also going to check power connection its been greased and sealed a long time
  • I did confirm its powering up and down from the ir lights, i also confirmed its not connecting to wifi on power up via network tools and the router interface

WIFI is a bear to debug. Your neighbor could have installed a microwave and killed the wifi :)
Use a WIFI analyzer on your phone to check the signal near the camera ?

Take the camera down and test it in the house.
