One of my cameras keeps dropping off line and sometime later will reboot itself (or not). I have tried reducing the resolution and frame rate but it makes no difference.
My setup is 4 x Dahua 8mp IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV cameras connected by Ethernet to a Dahua 8mp 200bps NVR4208-8p-4ks2 . Any help would be appreciated.

The cable is the first suspect. Did you make it yourself?
Test with a short premade cable.

Thank you for replying. The only reason that I thought it might be software rather than cabling is that sometimes it will run for hours before dropping off and there is no movement possible in the cable other than temperature (although temperature does not seem to affect the fault )

This does not mean anything. Did you crimp the cable yourself? Is it solid copper or CCA copper clad aluminum? Did you use the 568 standard?

Could be anything such as water ingress etc. You need to get to the cam and take a look and then plan from there onwards. If possible remove the cam and plug it in using a known good cable which will allow you to determine if it’s a cam or cable issue.
