camera e-mail event behind NVR

I have a NVR with 2 cameras and this is the first time I am using email on event. I've been having allot of false positives and from what I can find here this is common and one solution is to use the events in the camera itself under expert mode.

The issue is I'm trying to configure the SMTP settings on the camera and its giving me "device error". I noticed I dont have a direct path to the camera IP's because its behind the NVR which I guess is a closed network.

Is there any way to configure the camera behind the NVR to be able to send email?

Here are the models and firmware versions of my hardware. I found new firmware on the Hikvision Europe site, is it worth updating to the latest?
NVR: DS-7616NI-E2 / 8P - V3.4.95 build 170626
Camera: DS-2CD2055FWD-I - V5.5.0 build 170725

Yes, you can get cameras on a Hikvision NVR POE port to access the internet to send email by setting up these 3 conditions :
I can not access to NVR connected camera
