Hello, I am having trouble with a camera not powering on. Here are the details:
Equipment:
I don't understand why the camera worked initially, but then stopped working, even with other equipment.
- I had Cat6 cable pulled when our new house was being built a month ago (length much less than 100m)
- I had three cables pulled to the corner of my house, and am installing two cameras in this location (one unused cable for redundancy/future)
- I installed two cameras to this location without issue
- A couple hours later, I noticed one camera was no longer connected
- The other camera is still functioning normally
- My troubleshooting steps:
- Power cycled the switch port
- Rebooted the switch
- Observed that the PoE icon was not visible on the connected port in the Omada controller switch port status
- Observed that the light/activity indicator led on the specific port on the switch itself was not on
- Tried the third (unused) cable that was pulled
- Tried a different switch port
- Tried a different patch cable
- Tried a different ethernet keystone in my patch panel
- Tried a different camera
- Brought the initial camera inside to test, and it powered up correctly on the same switch ports that I tried above
- Used a cable tester to verify RJ-45 connectors were installed properly (result was good)
