My previous ladder had issues.
My latter ladder is the bee's knees.
drunkpenguin, this is meant as good natured banter.
In elementary school, when I raised my hand to ask the teacher "Can I go to the bathroom?", she'd say "Yes".
When I got up from my desk, she'd ask "Where are you going?"
Her point: "Can I go the bathroom?" is different than "May I go the bathroom?"
The latter question being the proper question, of course.
Retelling this now, it's so funny, I almost peed my pants. Which I "can" do, without asking if I "may" do.

Yep, there's proper grammar AND there's also understanding what is said. My dad learned a valuable lesson about how to word directives to a 5 year old that didn't like vegetables when he said "Now Tony, if you want to watch TV after supper, I want you to eat every carrot and pea on your plate!"
