Yeah i cant wait for the upgrade!!! Looks like I have a shopping list to make once the sale starts.
They are all just basic Samsung cameras from this kit so any upgrade is going to be a huge upgrade for me. Just waiting for the anniversary sale to go live

Yeah these will be improvements LOL!
Like in my case, I have fixed cams for IDENTIFY at key locations and pinch points, but use the 180 as a nice overview. At night on default/auto it can let me see a lot further than a camera set up to minimize blur. I just know that I will get blur with the 180, but it allows me to hear something and then be able to see what is going on 4 or 5 houses down the street.
I just bought the color4k-B180 for the exact purpose you mentioned. I have other cams in B&W to get me the shots I need. With that said, I know you say run in auto..
1. ) In the image settings under "working mode" do I select "Self adaptive?"
2. ) Leave exposure to "Auto" I know we never do that for our other cams...lol
3. ) Under "Day/Night" mode set to "Color"
4.) Under "Illuminator" do I set "Mode" to OFF and "Illiminator" to OFF
5.) What bitrate do you run on this cam and still set FPS to 15?
6.) There is a "Splicing" section in the camera settings. Do you know what I set this to" See pic.
Thanks again!
Great choice for an overview!
Answers to your questions:
1 - If you run BI, then keep it in working mode and then just do all your settings in the day profile. Self-adaptive will cause BI to think it is losing signal and you will get tons of error messages. If not using BI, then self-adaptive is ok.
2 - Since you have other cameras that capture the identify, then yes auto is ok for the overview to capture the color of stuff. If your property really struggles with light, then you would want to manual it and go like 0 to 30ms so that it doesn't get soo slow that everything is a complete blob LOL
3 - Yes you will want to force it to color
4 - This one is up to you based on your preference and available light - my 180 in the front has enough light so I turned the illuminator off. My 180 in the backyard needed some light so the illuminator comes on.
5 - I run mine at 12,288 and 15 FPS and iframe
6 - The splicing is where the two lens come together on your screen. For most situations the default is ok. But watch someone walk by and if they completely disappear in the middle of the screen, then adjust that number based on how far away they are from the camera.
Thanks sir. This a neat cameraYeah that is enough light that you don't need to run the built-in!
