Hello, I am looking to put some cameras in my store, about 6-8.

I am going to use frigate nvr. I don't need any AI capabilities, night vision, led illumination, alarms or speakers. Microphone is mandatory.

I don't care about low light performance. I want 4 cameras with high levels of detail (e.g. read a computer screen from ~2m away, straight line), the rest of them can be lower fidelity to cut cost.

Any recommendations?

Welcome @rootpeer

See the DORI section of the cliff notes, 2M = about 6 feet in the USA

I would look at a varifocal 8MP IP PoE camera with a larger sensor Dahua OEM or Hikvision OEM, this way you have plenty of pixels and can focus on the level of details you need.

What kind of budget do you have?
1500 for the cameras but I would prefer a bit less.

I am thinking of the T24IR and T28IR if the sensor size is not important for well lit spaces. Is there a noticable difference between the T28 and T58 in these conditions?

With the budget you can also buy the IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3.
