Cameras sometimes continue recording long after trigger

I installed my first cameras last night (Dahua Starlight) and set up Blue Iris. So far so good mostly, but a few problems.

I hope you can click to view my timeline in detail:



Both cameras are set to record when triggered. You can see the lime green camera recorded most of the night despite only half a dozen moments when it detected motion. It then recorded motion at 07:38 and when that trigger ended it stopped recording.

Then at 07:15 motion was detected on the slate grey camera, it started recording and hasn't stopped since :/

Couple more questions. How do I manually delete footage?
What happens if I delete footage direct from the computer storage folder and not from within Blue Iris? Will BI realise files are deleted and remove them from the timeline?

How many feet do you want to delete?

The timeline will show inaccurate recording lengths when using combine and cut..
Don't delete footage..let blue iris do it, that's what it's there for...
If you insist on deleting do it via blue iris or you will screw up the database.

Thanks, so after much more clicking about, it seems that BI shows that the recording is continuing on the timeline, but there is no recording, just a greyed out still shows. Looks like the timeline function can do with a bit of improvement there.

I've mostly got to grips with BI now.

if you disable combine and cut, the timeline will display accurately.
